Bike thefts at races and bike parks are regrettably way to common. Think about it, walk up to a unprotected bike dressed as a MTBer and ride off...easy pickins'. You can toss the all the parts with serial numbers and just sell the components. A few years back they caught a MTBer in Arizona that was a serial bike thief and stole bikes for years from races and resorts.

Ok I retract my previous comment on revised step up. You can definitely over clear it.

They better get to the bottom of that or no one is going to eat at the top.

I didn't but my buddy easily blew the landing and was at least 15 feet in the air! I hit it yesterday without looking at it not realizing how much bigger it was. Today I stopped to look at it from the bottom and I would say from launch to landing its about ~30ft(snow summit says states its 26). Once you get past the intimidation factor and figure out the speed, this thing is a pretty fun jump.

Ed you were right though about little guys being able to push hard enough to clear that jump.. in this clip Ryan was pushing hard for enough speed and came up about 2 ft short.. not bad at all but each time he hit it he landed about the same spot a couple of feet short..

Can't wait to get back up there. Looks like Summit is doing a great job improving the park over last year.

Let's face it, the park was a disaster during the first few weeks last year. Good to see that they have made improvements where they were most needed and adding new features is always a plus.

When they only had Miracle Mile open and everyone from bike park first-timers to seasoned vets were funneled down it, IMO it was a disaster. Too much traffic of all skill levels for one trail to handle and not enough moisture in the ground to keep it really maintained. Lots of frustration for everyone involved in the dreaded traffic jams.

Later on when they opened Cruiser and Westridge, things got a lot better as traffic spread out more. This year looks really promising, I'm excited to see what they have in store.

Cruiser was open from day one. I didn't really ride much on Saturday's. The few Saturday's I did ride it was more than twice as busy as Friday or Sunday. If you're riding Saturday's try another day, it's way better.

I actually enjoyed Miracle Mile when it got beat up and before the pavers were there. It made the turns more fun! Sometimes I get a little bored of the high speed BMX track type of trails.

I bet they will put some technical downhill trails wheezy. They are building what the public wants in order of demand. Demand is mostly beginner trails and jump trails from what I've heard and seen. I've heard a few people ask for technical downhill trails too.

The jump trails are always going to be universally most popular.. ride in Whistler and the biggest traffic jams are on A-Line, Dirt Merchant, Crank It Up etc.. you never get into traffic issues in the technical trails.. it's always the "flow" trails that are jammed up..

No, but any vehicle can pretty much come up 2n10, park and walk the .5 mile onto SS's property. This was pretty much a wake up call, that you cant be the complacent even at the top. So I guess I'm staying at the bottom and eating PB&Js in the parking lot, where I can see my bike at all times.
