True, but I wonder when they will actually have the Men's bathroom open again - I think it's been 2 years like this?

 

The Niner demo was cool. I demoed the WFO. What? A WFO at OTH? That's ridiculous I know but I really like that bike and wanted to check it out (again). Turns out I had my best finish for the season on it. Must have been the fun factor.

 

Yeah!!! I knew what was going on but I was on the left side of the pack and couldn't get right. I ended up stuck waiting for the pack to slow so I didn't take a bunch of people out. Super fun race though for sure. :bang:

 

uh-oh it's getting down to the wire...only three more to go

1. shaved legs *checked
2. race kit washed *checked
3. carbon hard tail *checked
4. registered as beginner....ummm

 

Last nights course was A LOT of fun.

 

Was brutal IMO. What's with the guys with the full matching kits, shaved legs and high end bikes in the BEGINNER class B49? Sandbaggers! No wonder I can't get a friggen pint glass.

Props the the crew cheering me on throughout the course, you rock!!!

 

@grego i don't shave i wax, i like carbon bikes and i like to match...

oh and the course was awesome!

 

What was up with the guy racing in jeans? He was in a zombie trance, almost taking out other racers several times (including myself) by suddenly veering across the trail.

 

I liked that the course was longer. The last two weeks were too short.
Didn't feel like 40 minutes for BOP was quite enough.
A lot of the segments I like better in the other direction, but longer was better.

Dino was without tunes, so I tried to Karoeke a few songs as I went by.
Jumping Jack Flash on lap 1 and Iron Man on lap 2.

Cool watching Hans Rey demo a bit and show his charity movie.

One last race, let's all have fun.

 

@fongster i remember seeing him falling off his bike going up orange crush hill...i think grego hired him to take out the sandbaggers in the beginner class.

 

The last time I saw a guy out on the trail with jeans he was also wearing sandals with cleats.....something like these

I guess this discussion settles my question about how the beginners class is. I think it would be fun to race as it would give me more motivation to pedal. However, out of shape and sandbaggers won't get me far. Plus, maybe I am not into organized competition anymore.


does Jeff Ward (x motocross) race this event? Seems like so many x motocross guys ride around Aliso too. I thought I saw Ricky Carmichael talk about Mathis x 3.
