I love this post! So happy to to see so many mountain biking dog lovers. I have three rescued dogs who are all getting up there in age (9, 10 and 13), Lili, Venus and Pelo (my screen name Livepe - first two letters of each dog). I love showing them off. I enjoyed looking at the photos. Teri
For anybody that's had the same kind of relationship with their pet, this may be hard to watch. I always said the same thing about my dog, he helped me work through my demons by being there for me when others weren't. I hate that i couldn't cure him from ****ing cancer, f cancer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOAcRKZxjy4
Thanks for sharing Rhoades. Super tough to watch but gives great insight on how much our pets mean to us.
This is my tripawd Yuki - she's a rescue from a shelter in LA. She had 4 legs when I got her but was hit by a truck last July and we had to amputate her left front (tore the nerve cluster going down her leg, never regained use of it ). Her poor back is pretty messed up from the accident, but I'm hoping she can go run the trails with me eventually... http://www.creativerampancy.net/Pets/Dogs/Yuki/7138077_9qLhb *Edit: This sounds kind of depressing after reading it, lol! I should mention that Yuki has gone from being a scared bag of bones that cowered in fear of *everything* to an exceptionally happy, active dog, even despite her loss. She gets around on 3 legs amazingly well, eats like a wolf (literally), loves other dogs (we have 3 at home) and lets me know she is thankful for the rescue every day. Shelter dogs love you like 10X as much as other dogs:bang:
Meet Reba, the latest addition to our pack. She is a retired breeder dog... kicked to the curb after she pumped out her quota. We got her just before Chirstmas and she was a wreck. We discovered about a month after we got her that her vocal cords had been cut I think that she spent a great deal of time in a kennel. It's taken a little time, but she has adjusted well to the household and today was her first outing on the trail. She shadowed Tinker & Zeke for most of the hike and really enjoyed herself. She is very agile and fits our lifestyle perfectly.
She's a beautiful Vizsla Eddie. I had one and he was a great mountain biking dog. He could run forever! He just had to be by my side all the time.
Nice!:clap:Congradulations there Eddie.Nice save.Puppy mills and cutting vocal cords SUCK!!! A friend of mine has a Vizsla also.Very loyal dogs.Again, rescues are the only way to go! :bang:-Lloyd
I picked him up from a breeder in Tehachapi. He wont have another litter until some time next year. He's an awesome pup. Planning on picking another Sib up next year or so.
how much did you pay? also arent they great dogs, my neighbor has one and she is awesome. nicest dog ever unless you are a possum then you are dead. ha ha.
Why thank yew! Being a formerly abused rescue, Yuki tends to jump at most any unexpected sound... I thought the caption fitting for her. It's embarrassing how many photos I have of my dog - I'm kind of a pet-parent!
