This is what it looks like at 6:20am from Brea. Very thick smoke outside and I'm about 2 miles from the courthouse.

I don't think I'm into coming down and inhaling a pound of ashes while I b.s. and see what people are selling. Maybe another time.

OK, I just cancelled the regular Sunday Morning group ride. Feel free to all show up but the air quality is just too poor to have an organized group ride. I am may still interested in the Swap Meet but only if there's a good turn out.

Perhaps, if anyone is no longer attending the Swap Meet due to poor air quality, traffic conditions, etc. BE SURE to change your RSVP HERE so we can all gauge if it's worth it to try to get there, please? :?: Thanks.

I worked for Cal Fire fighting fires for years so the smoke does not really bother me. I will head over to see want is going on. Bringing the bike just in case. Can tell ya that Laguna has no wind and no smoke. But as we know that can change as the wind changes.

I'm two miles west of the courthouse. Although I can now see the sun, it's still very smokey, and ash is still falling. It also smells really bad outside. At this point, I'm not planning on attending, despite having lots to sell (and looking to buy a few things).

Also, I'm sure these fires have affected many STR members who have not been able to post here.

Even if some people do show up, we should plan on another swap meet soon.

Why not still have the swap meet today but maybe change locations? I can't imagine that would be too difficult, considering.

    Suggustions?

My car is already loaded so I'm planning on coming over for an hour.
I'm over in Lake Forest and the airs fine. I'd consider another location.

Its funny the fires are the reason im going, if I can't go riding, might as well buy some parts and then build something. Hope there's a turnout, cuz I'm a newb in need of:
    Grips
    An xl hard tail frame
    Xt components
Maybe a whole bike, (I'm bringing a friend that wants to start riding.)

I'll bring a small kona blast I need to sell.
-I've never been to an str swap meet before, see u guys there.

Too late to change venues significantly enough to make a difference. Let's postpone this thing, let folks sort their situations out, and give it another shot in a week or two.

I must be lucky here on the East side of Fullerton (State College and Chapman). Although it smells of smoke I have bright blue skies above me. It appears the smoke is now staying north of me. There was no wind early this morning but I can now see my palm trees moving slightly. Being local I am still gonna go up, see what I can buy and than spend the rest of the day lifting beers to my mouth.

I think it is too late to even postpone. It would suck for anyone that is not checking on here that is committed to already showing up. I say let it be and just schedule another one in December for those who are affected?
