    highlights of my day:
-meeting and chatting it up with Maxwell. One of the best dudes i've had the pleasure of meeting. Introduced myself before the race, got passed by him on the XC course and found him at the Super D. Cool dude, and very helpful
-Super D: falling about 10ft down a hill on the course just after being passed by JfromLV a few seconds eariler who started a minute behind me. Besides that crash, having the best time doing that for the first time. If you have the chance, do it. Just the right kinds of downhill for us non DH people. Also, finishing this and not being the slowest. :bang:
-gasping for air (i finally know what this means) without water during XC, finding Jman on the course who gave me a swig of his gatorade.

AWESOME SHOTS!!! Those 4x shots are the best, you should send some of them to the Southridge folks, maybe they'll use them on their website. You really captured the bunny hop. Great job.

david, those pics turned out great. there was some seriously exciting carnage on that 4x course. i don't think i'll ever have the cojones to do that sort of thing, but damned if it wasn't exciting to watch.

Sharky also got an awesome shot of some guy flying over the side of that berm from hell. Midair. Very cool.

Nice report David. The rider in the pic is sdyeti. Congrats to Allison, Steph, Nancy, Justin and you for your podium finishes. I'll have to come out one of these times and see how I'd do.

DH today consisted of some mild breezes....... Not sure, but I heard reports of 90 mph gusts, and I believe it! I got spanked in DH, Lee showed up and did well, especially considering he ran his hardtail! It was all about survival today, and I made it down in one piece, for that, I am very thankful.

Saturday, raced and placed 3rd in the Over 200lb Class XC, and 4th in Sport Super D.

Raced DH for my 2nd time today.

    Got 24th out of 28 Sport Men 35-44! :bang::bang::bang:

Like J said, the wind's were CRAZY!

I came down with no dirt + no blood = no crashes!

The 4X pics of the guy bunny hopping the downed rider, was none other than Carter Holland, of blk mrkt Bikes.
The man has some serious skill's, and is a great guy on top of that!

You should send them to him; http://www.blackmarketbikes.com/

Great job out there racing too!

Anyone who made it down the course with that wind is a trooper.
I watched as it blew people off the course like rag dolls.

I moved to the "D" for Over "D" bars. Brought up the rear in the class, 18,19, or 20th??? with a classic endo in the last rock section. I can only improve from here! Fun day, better than work even w/ the wind. Way to go STR, strong showing!!!!

I know Bluefirepictures , Lensart and Downhillnews were there. I think Ericfoltz, also. New camera and computer taking me a bit here with mine. Takes forever getting them into photobucket.

No, not photobucket! Photobucket and other similar photohosting sites are blocked at my work, so I can't see those photos when I'm there. You could probably load them here faster.

    I Got Hammered

I was there yesterday and today. http://www.jodygomez.com/g/2008_mtb_racing

Yesterday was amazing - couldn't ask for better weather. I had the bright idea of spending today up on the saddle. The winds did feel like 90 mph, however I believe they were only 60 mph gusts. Nevertheless, I couldn't sit or squat down because the sand would swirl around my face and camera, so I had to stand and brace myself against the wind. Let me tell you - 5 hours in that sandblast wiped me out. I can hardly see and I still feel like I have dirt in my eyes (thanks for the baby wipes Nancy!)

Anyway, pics are going up and I will continue to edit for as long as I can see tonight. The first 100 from today are uploading now. ;)

    Enjoy!

    Jody

I was there. I was up on the saddle all day getting sandblasted. http://www.jodygomez.com/g/2008_mtb_racing

I'm uploading and editing right now, but my eyes are killing me, so I'll edit for as long as I can see.

Let me know what you think!
