Dude, the map is getting populated nicely.

Mods, anyway we can make this a permanent feature somewhere on STR? Maybe not just a thread sticky, but a trailmap button at the top of the page?

    Again, very well done davemw.

Indeed an awesome idea. When I first started looking for places to ride this would have been very valuable. I added Westridge/Sullivan in the Santa Monica Mtns and Big Sycamore at Pt.Mugu State Park. I added links to singletrackmind, geoladders and the ventura country trail website where applicable.

Thanks BM I'm going to post this on a few other sites and see if we can get the whole US populated....

you may be able to add bike shops to that map and change the marker color to something other than blue?

It could get a little crowded with bike shops and trailheads on one map, IMO.

Well get us a link to that bike shop map so we can start adding to it... I will pull the couple shops I added off the trail head map.

Wow, this is a great idea. I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner. Thanks for getting it rolling, Dave.

I've added a few of my local rides. Will keep adding more and more.

    BIG Welcome!!!

Farking fantastic idea!! I added one for Chesebro (my backyard!). Great idea, Dave, and what a way to make a huge splash upon first entering the pool.

I put their green bike rider icon in as my marker point -- you can change it to the blue thingy if you wanna, but I thought it apropos...

    shud

    -- EDIT ---

Ah! By the time I got in here and made this entry, you'd already been there and done that! Ha!! You're too fast for me, Dave.

davemv, welcome and thanks for getting this going. Thanks as well to anyone else that has added/will add trailheads and descriptions.

Hey Joe Truth, you've beat me to the punch on a lot of the local trailheads around the area. Great job!
It would seem that we ride a lot of the same trails. I hope to meet and ride with you one of these days.

Not sure if anyone has seen the map lately, There's gotta be about 200 markers now!

Added a few local trails myself. with markers.

This should be extended nationwide, with Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nor Cal, Oregon, Utah etc riders boards adding to the contributions. You could probably list it in each area on MTBR to really get it going and take off.
