    I like your fatalist attitude.

"People die, get used to it.":lol::wave:

I pretty much feel the same way. People are keeping the gene pool as good as possible.

I dunno what's going on. The press enterprise only has info on the snakebite. You can see crews still working up there from my house. I would guess that the person who was bit was an emergency worker on the clock, hence the extra precaution of the helicopter.

report says it was a random hiker who was bit by a large southern pacific, if it was a fatality and they found him already dead then they have to do an investegation before moving anything, it takes awhile. Its pretty common to find dead people up there on/after the weekend, theres cars all over the place

    Dead person in SUV

The Police Officer that talked to me said that the vehicle was also stolen. He would not give us any details.

It's a Crime Seen!! He kept telling us when we tried to pick his brain. Tried to bribe him with some donuts, but it looked like he had plenty  Riverside Counties finest, Yeah right!!

    I thought I smelled bacon:wave::wave::wave::wave:

I'd say the snakebite guy was pretty fortunate...
On the scene: One helicopter, two aerial personnel, one ambulance, 20 firefighters, five firetrucks, and a partridge in a pear tree.

From reading the incident report, seems like dude was lucky that the fire department just happened to be close by investigating the abandoned car.

old one and told 1000x different ways, but the ending is always the same

One day the Lone Ranger was out in the woods taking a pee, when suddenly a rattlesnake came out of the bushes and bit him on his d!ck. He gave a loud yell, and Tonto came running to his side.

    "What has happened Kimo Sabi?"

"A snake bit me on my d!ck Tonto, your gonna have to go find a doctor and ask what to do."

Tonto left his friend to find help. Soon he came upon a town, and found the local doctor.

"Help! Kimo Sabi has been bitten by a rattlesnake! What should I do?"

The doctor replied: "Well, you will have to suck the poison from the wound, then bandage it up."

"Thank you doctor!" Tonto replied while running back out the door. He ran for a while until he found the Lone Ranger lying on the ground.

"Well, what did he say Tonto?" asked the ranger.

Tonto again looked at the wound, and then looked at the Lone Ranger and said, "He said your gonna die Kimo Sabi!"

almost 100% of snakebites are helo evacuation whenever possible. time is of the essence and 45 minutes vs 3 hours makes a huge difference in terms of long term outcome of the injury

A whistle and a cell phone (if you ride where there's coverage) are probably a better idea.

A close friend of mine from Corona SD said that the body was completely wrapped up was found in the trunk of the vehicle which was pushed off a 75 foot cliff! Not a good day for this guy. Kinda scary since I travel this road via cannondale.

I read once about a guy that used jumper cables and car battery to shock his snake bite . He said it didn't turn black and healed quick. This was in an outdoor mag in a believe it or not section.
