I think the last I heard about that company was that several people who'd put a down payment on their cars still hadn't seen delivery years later. Some of those people were celebrities and the company was having legal issues. I'm pretty sure this was on BBC's Top Gear when they did a test drive on the coupe.

    There's only 2 vehicles i want if I'm carrying multiple people: a Renault Espace F1, or a Lamborghini LM/American.

And while the Model S is a cool idea, the Fisker Karma is waaay better looking in my opinion.

So, I found out the reason why there are 7 seats...

Elon Musk, the owner/founder of Tesla, has 5 kids. And he wants to be able to cart them all around with him.

    Seriously, that is the reason.

oh, and there is only one other model in the US market that still has rear-facing seats available. Any guesses?

Any yes, the Fisker Karma is still waaaaay better looking than the Tesla Model S.

Nope, but you would think so. Surprised it wasn't them, actually.

    Now that would be awesome!

Yeah - Volvo had a rear-facing 3rd row as an optional accessory in the V70 - but they stopped with the 2010 update - same time as they stopped selling 'em over here. I've thought about picking one up for my wife's '06 V70.

Anyway, the answer to your question is the Mercedes E350. I'm not in love with its styling (though I think MB's current-gen sedan's are breathtaking) - but I do appreciate that someone's still making a proper family wagon and selling it in the US.

    Ya beat me to it.

I remember my folks had a Plymouth (?) wagon with rear facing seats and a sporty 3-speed push button automatic. Pretty cool facing backwards except at the drive-ins. Later we had the Mercury wagon with side-facing rear seats. It had a 460 and would bust the rear tires loose without much effort. We fought a LOT in that back seat.

Gray, if i had asked that a year ago, you would have been right! I was actually pretty surprised Volvo doesn't anymore. Nowadays it's all forward-facing rear seats, i guess.

Well, that and ball bearings. Everybody knows it's all ball bearings these days.

If i had 5 kids, i would much rather haul them around in an AMG E-class than a Tesla. Hands down.

    That thing is absolutely beautiful.

I'd love to see Top Gear UK do a head-to-head with that and the CTS-V wagon.

Not to digress, but why the hell don't they make those rear facing seats anymore? My mom had a mercedes wagon and we LOVED sitting in the rear seats and making faces at the drivers behind us. Classic.
