Can anyone post some recent Santiago Oaks ride reports!?

Just wondering if Santiago Oaks has been getting damp all week like the trails down in south oc?!? Just looking for some conditions from the past day or two!

Haven't ridden this week but I live in the northwest corner of Irvine, within close riding distance to Oaks and it has been damp all week.. woke this morning to more drizzle yet again for what it's worth..

Did some afternoon rides. Tuesday was damp on the top layer that clogged up the tires quikly. Wednesday was good, fast and tacky but not hero quality. Today should be good.

I'm heading over after work. Geoladders had a morning ride with no comment as to poor conditions, and one of the fellas at the Path mentioned riding this morning and being mud-free.

Thanks for moving! Just wanted to add that I went to Santiago Oaks today and the conditions were perfect! Its very nice driving 15 miles that direction and getting dry trails! I also came across a small Bobcat on Coachwhip, it scattered right out of view of the gopro! it was pretty small and very quick

Yep.--Rode Santiago Oaks this morning, up lower Chutes, around to Deer, back to Yucca, and out upper Chutes down thru Perter's Canyon, started out drizzly, then cleared--all trails solid and fast.

Trails look great, no mud as it was so dry before the rain. Just enough fell to kill the dust. Surface has a nice crackle sound to it as you ride or hike it. saw no closures at all.

You're right, trails were great there this morning! I saw the post by "Me and My Bike" yesterday and had to sneak in a quick ride this morning before the weekend got too busy with family stuff. Thanks to him for the heads-up! There was no dust and the trails were super grippy. I had a blast going down Cactus, Yucca, and Chutes.

It wasn't too crowded, but there were definitely a bunch of people out there enjoying the great conditions and beautiful morning.

    Have fun out there, everyone!

Yeah I was under the impression that barham was a giant fire road but that's not the case. They just widened it along side the existing trail. Still the same to me. Hopefully that is it for the widening. Trails I went up and down were nice. Up 2 Bs down hawk up new goat and barham then back down and out old chutes. Awesome conditions and beautiful day.

They could all use the slow, soaking rain that is coming. Please stay off closed trails. SHARE has a maintenance date set for this Sunday at the Oaks...we'll find out if its still on, but its easier to rehab trails damaged only by summer use than by summer use + winter ruts.

    Thanks in advance.

Oaks and Weir are closed. I live about a 15 min ride to the dirt and it dumped a ton of rain on us late this afternoon. It is likely a muddy mess and will be closed for another day at least. Hopefully it'll open up on New Year's Day.

We got rained on out there on Saturday and it was becoming a slippy/muddy mess.....and that was before today's downpour.

santiago oaks was in good condition this afternoon. Some people must have ridden in the morning or yesterday and made some big ruts.
switchbacks in the shade were slick, but not muddy. Should be great tomorrow.

    Oaks was beautiful today.

BIG props to the trail work done on Cactus Canyon. There appeared to be new berms put in this week and drainage planned.
