Does anyone have any knowledge of the recent tear-down of some of the features in this zone? Over the weekend, numerous small jumps were obliterated, banked turns were churned up into sand pits and a bridge that is crucial to one of the trails was cut in the middle and dropped into the gulch that it traversed. The bridge is particularly dangerous because on first glance, it looks the same, but is a recipe for disaster if you ride at full speed. No warning tape or other indications that the trail is not rideable. It is signed for muti-use so I do not believe it was down by the land managers, but I am not sure. If anyone knows anything about this. I am very curious. I hope this was not done by other recreation users out of spite....

My understanding is that Team WTF originally built the trails there and will destroy any features non-members build.

If the bridge was dangerous why did you not drag it out of the way? I have done that a few times here in Laguna until we could get out there and make them safe again. Cutting the bridge in the middle does not seem like something Team WTF would do.

Any info to pass on to the public? I would hate to try and ride this area only to go full bore onto a bridge thats been decapitated. Or, is this feature on an illegal trail that i wouldn't find anyways?

Care to give the rest of us a clue? It's a popular area and we're not talking about illegal trails, so why close a thread as opposed to sharing important info that could help someone avoid injury?

@Saosin... I'm not sure if you're new to this whole internet thing, but your approach is probably the worst way to make this go away.

What possible reason can there be to bury a conversation about vandalizing legal trails?

Fwiw, bridge was already broken last Thursday, so probably a separate cause than the trailwork group Saturday... i didnt inspect it, but just assumed it had just broken and fallen in by itself. Was still passable in its collapsed state at that point.

Maybe it would be good to get some facts before bashing.

OP requested the thread to be deleted via PM. If it just disappeared, I'd never hear the end of it. Instead, I'll compromise and just close this thread.
