:-k Lemme see, you rode a bike on the pavement and you weren't on the way to or from a dirt trail? Dude, that makes you a roadie! Stop rationalizing. [-XIt's like saying, "Well, sure I had sex with him, I was drunk and besides, he was pretty as a girl!" Admit it! You're a roadie by your own definition. Mtbers ride on the dirt and roadies ride on the pavement. No one said that the rider is defined by the tire or the bike they ride, but by the surface they ride on! There's nothing wrong with riding road, Frank, just as long as you ride with other consenting adults and wash your hands afterwards.:-$

I'm planning to enter the Breathless Agony Ride in Redlands. Climbs up Hwy 38. I like the jersey. Seems like a VQ on pavement...just my thing, more punishment! 114 miles, 12,000 feet of climbing. Anybody up for it? Sign-up is Jan 8 and race is May 5.

Pete: I'm hoping that I can finally do that one this year but it depends on my race schedule.

As far as roadie vs mtber: Don't let shaved legs fool ya. [-X Real mtbers have a burrito & tasty beer after a ride. Roadies will head for the nearest salad bar or if it's early enough straight to a cafe for a latte & biscotti.

I think the guy at my LBS has the record for that course. His names Scott I'm pretty sure. Used to be on the 7-up team or something because there are some pictures and a jersey with a big 7-up on the front.

Don't foreget about Ride Around the Bear(102 miles - 9600 ft elevation) in June. YEah it is still a while away, but it is really fun. Oh, and did I mention the 30 miles of DH at the end.:bang:

Ride around the bear is one of the best (as in hardest rides) there is locally.
