I crashed out of my OTH race. OTB'd spectacularly resulting in nasty trail rash pretty much down my entire right side. My elbow got a nice puncture wound, too. Scrubbing all the wounds SUCKED. At least nothing is broken.

Sorry to hear that, and glad it's nothing more serious. Racing will definitely push your limits. Ordinary trail features and turns become treacherous when you are tired and cranking hard.

Heal up quick and get back out there :bang:

    Get well soon!

The following picture should help to lessen the pain!

I've seen and heard about some nasty crashes at OTH - glad you didn't break anything either but sleeping and showering might be worse than the crash itself...ugh

Yes I saw quite a few guys getting attention. Saw one guy in a sling (looked like a broken collarbone)

Hopefully you can recover before next weeks race. I crashed last night too. First time crashing during a race. I've got some lovely road rash on my hip, leg and forarm.

Sorry to hear that--heal up quickly! I think I might need a break. I want to get my FS bike back online. Riding that spare 1990 hardtail was fun but it can't handle slamming down those drops.

I had a nasty spill as well, no front end feel over the new added section. I was surprised how many crashes they were. Very happy no serious injuries. Till the next time =)

Couple of detours just passed the cat walk. All hard pack dirt, quick and flows just right. Reminds me of Turn 1 2 3 4 and @ Fontana !!! Just not buck fifty knee to the ground =)

I just got home from the ER as my arm wound had red streaks, swelling, and heat--big time infection. I got IV antibiotics there, 2 oral ones for home and got my elbow wound scrubbed out--again. Just missed being admitted overnight. I have to go back for a follow-up tomorrow.

Ooh, that sucks! Glad you got it taken care of right away. Hopefully the rest of the recovery goes smoother, and you get better soon.

Hi all, yeah kind of scary thinking about it today. I won't be racing for a bit--the trail rash and related infection plus hugely sore areas from the impact are doing their job slowing me down. We'll probably be there next week for Ava to race though.
