What a great night. The best part was when the announcer said "We have been getting complaints about the crowds and riders not being able to pass. Get over it........or maybe OTH is not for you. It is about having fun!" I thought that was sweet!

Awesome course last night! Could have done without the firt-lap pileup in the sand trap and that first little climb, though. But it was a hoot.

How cool is it to race in the same race (if certainly not in the same class - not by a mile) as guys like Joe Lawill and Brian Lopes? Not many sports afford the opportunity to be out on course at the same time with the pros.

Quality bell ringing as always, Dino!

One bad thing: I had a real scary moment just past start/finish where the course drops back onto the beach... a spectator was ambling across the course, looking down at her camera. I yelled to get her attention, and she ran back the other way - the same way I was attempting to dodge her. That's a 20mph section and it almost got really ugly for both of us.

Oh, and my apologies to the guy I almost took out as i was attempting to re-mount after getting taken down in the sand trap - I didn't realize my saddle was turned 45 degrees!

Great times last night. My son Oliver had a blast and I got to meet some super cool folks (fullertonmike, fongster), and re-connect with some others (grego, lonboarderj). For those who aren't into racing, volunteering is just as fun. I'm actually wondering if it's more fun.....at least it's less pressure! Andre if you were the one asking me at the scoring booth about that extra lap I hope you talked to the official scoring peeps I would think they should be able to get your lap times and put you in proper place based on that. :?: Sorry I didn't have an answer for you.

The OTH crew really puts on a great event week after week! We are all blessed to have such a great, family-friendly, newb-friendly, place to play around and push ourselves during the summer :)

First race on 2 wheels for me and I had a blast. Newbie friendly for sure. I was the large bearded gorilla in fluorescent yellow socks on a Stumpy Evo 29er. Again ton's of fun and I didn't crash or finish last so that helped! I saw photogs all over the course. Where do we see the pics?

I don't know you, but I think your van was parked next to me.... Personalized plate? I saw it when I was leaving and couldn't figure out why the plate sounded familiar.

    Those are fantastic pics! Thanks!

I particularly like the one with the four leaders...

Victor Sheldon - former professional jet-skier, can ride the heck out of anything with a handlebar
Steve Boniface - former professional motocross rider, 2 wheels is in his DNA
Brian Lopes - world champion, etc, etc., his quads are bigger than yours
Brandon Gritters - Cat 1 national champ, etc., we all chase his strava KOM's

AND they all look like I felt too! Priceless. Although they had three minutes to relax before I crossed the line. Eh- I'm okay with that.
