Got tired of big bro Joe catching air without me, this is the first time I ever caught air, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

Second pic is circa 1993. Bro Joe on the left, me in the middle, Lor on the right. If that was taken today, it would be about 80 lbs. heavier!

Trail was in much better shape back then. No Traffic. Switchbacks were all in good shape. No ruts.

    My First Night Ride

This is me on my first night ride on one of the creek crossings going up Sisar Road (9 miles - 3,400ft elevation gain) in Ojai in early February 1998. There was snow further up toward the top. I was using two cateye HL500 ($20 halogen lights that run on 4 AA cells) and they worked pretty good for night riding on the cheap.

The group I rode with hung with me for a few miles, then left me alone so they could go to the top and would get me on the way back down. Since it was my first night ride, they made sure to tell me about the bears and mt. lions in the area before they took off #-o

I didn't know how much light those cateyes would give me, so I turned them off as there was enough moonlight to make out the trail. A deer bolted across the trail no less than 10 feet in front of me and very nearly scared the pudding out of me

I found a few old pics laying around... YIKES!

I found a couple old pictures laying around. These bring back memories! I loved my old GT hardtail, it was an Avalanche and it had Judy forks! What like 2.5" of travel? No wonder I broke 2 of these frames! I think this pic is from around 1999.

Here is my old cruiser, it was stolen from me. I wish I still had this bad boy!

Who else has some cool old photos?

The Avalanche was a sweet bike. My dream bike, back in the day, was the old school Zaskar!
