You should watch the movie anyway. My little relevation is not really all that essential to the plot. It's nothing like Darth Vader being Luke's father; it's more of an a-ha moment that's a lot less important than what the thing actually represents. Also, it's been parodied to death by almost everyone; even the Simpsons took a shot at it with Mr. Burns and Bobo the bear. I'm not going to apologize for spoiling one aspect of a 50+ year old movie that's already been spoiled time and again in pop culture, but I do implore you to watch the movie. Trust me, that bit of knowledge doesn't detract from the movie at all. I should know, the Simpsons got to me long before I had a chance to watch it.

LOL. I know you were joking, Roger. I was just concerned that Man in a Shed would miss out on watching a marvelous movie just because I said something silly on the interwebs. The board grouped your quote with his and as I was posting from my iPhone, I just left it.

Also, I had to think a moment about the Joker dying at the end of Batman. Damn you, The Dark Knight, you ruined my 90's nostaglia.

I am a huge fan of early sci fi and horror:

This scene in Nosferatu always makes me squeamish:

The creation of Maria in Fritz Lang's Metropolis

    "It's Alive!" Frankenstein

"One of us! Gooble Gobble!" from Freaks

From the original King Kong, one of the greatest movie screams ever:

movies that make me laugh out loud

One of the funniest scenes ever, from Some Like it Hot:

    LOLz from The Marx Brothers

And I submit, the entire movie Spinal Tap, because it is nearly impossible to pick one scene, because, Like Monty Python & The Holy Grail, it is filled with classic scenes.

If I could add a few, they would be entire Marx Bros films.

Those guys were unparalleled before or since. You couldn't even remake those films.

    Ok...

What's so great about this, is it's the one time someone finally puts one over on Groucho, and it's so thorough, he knows, Chico knows, they both know it's happening, and it just keeps going from bad to worse...

mmm... Another great moment in film has to be the invention and perfection in one fell swoop of the music video (or in this case film), for music video's sake:

    Just let that play...

Spoiler alert! If you haven't seen this movie and want to, skip this clip.

Final scene in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I watch it at least once a year and it still gets me every time. That image of Chief disappearing into the distance...damn, there I go again.

It's bad enough they're attempting a Three Stooges film. My guess is that a rival studio will counter with a Marx Brothers flick. :?:

    "Top That"....wow...I uhh...wow

However, Spinal Tap "11", Live at Pompeii, Marx Bros., and OFOTCN:bang:

I see the gloves are coming off, eh? Very well.
Then I must get all matricidal on y'all!

Related question; does anyone know if Walt had Norman Bates type issues? Seriously. A lot of Moms get whacked in Disney films.

    Moving along. To the hills!

That's classic! I can't decide if this is a parody of law, business, politics or higher education... maybe it's E) All of the above.

You would never find something so honest and clever on modern television...

Leatherheads tried but...meh. The trailer was the best part of that picture though. Still, glad someone made an attempt rather than release another "tough guy walks away from explosion and is too cool to turn around a look."

HAHAHA, I was just talking about that shot the other day. I thought if I had a lot more patience than I have now, I'd rent every action movie in the last fifteen years and just string those shots all together into a three hour explodorama and just call it: "The only action movie you will ever have to see."

    ...and you'd be right!
Did a search and there's not only a compilation but an actual video! I'm not much of a Will Ferrell fan but it's kinda funny. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that this was inspired by "Montage" from Team America World Police.:-k
