I signed up for all four races this year! (I only did Aliso and Casper's last year due to how new to MTB I am) Just trying to inflate the Beginning Men 30-39 bracket so other people can get the podium in front of me :p

I got that laser engrave wooden slab in my office from last year, and I was panning on signing up for all 4 races again.
Then the schedule came out, and at this point I got a conflict on the first two races..... what a bummer!

(both conflicts are kids related...... I should have stayed single)

Good luck out there! I'll be racing, too. I'm in for all 4 races, and can't wait for the series to start!

Timing and finances will prevent me from doing the whole series, but I am hoping to make it to at least one event.

Any idea on when the pre-ride for Oaks will be? (Edit) NM, I see the date, 19 September.

I have to wait another 30 years and change genders before I can actually complete for any position other than dead last.

    Have fun guys!

Any recommendations for first time racers? What kind of kit should I consider? I've already signed up for the Whiting ranch race on a whim. Thanks for anyone's help! Should be fun!

Good advice right there! I was thinking more along the lines of water, tools, essentials to bring along.

    That's just J's dry sense of humor - he's a good guy...really, he is!! :)

Most Course Marshalls (I will be on Sage but I never carry the following...lol) will have tubes, tools, Co2's, snacks, water, cow bells (I think I covered it). Go light if you think you won't flat, otherwise bring "most" of the essentials to get you on your way should something go wrong.

Just got home. Since it's done, I can say that was fun. Probably wasn't thinking that while I was schlepping up Dreaded though! lol. I started in slot 95. I think I passed one bike and got passed by three bikes, so at least I know that I'm not dead last. I'll plan on riding the others as well.
