So as some of you may know I am getting a Specialized Demo 8. But the desire for more than one big bike is hard to resist.. So I thought I'd consider another Chumba in the future. Not too soon- but it will be in the back of my mind. As far as I understand this will be the new Chumba F5.. although a great color I am not too fond of the black outlining around the Chumba on the downtube. Also it seems to come in a build kit now. This is all I know so far, but from the looks of it- this bike may end up in my room sooner than I think. :-k The specs: Wheels:Azonic Outlaw -135mm 26" w/s blk Tire: Maxxis Highroller - DH 26 x 2.5" Brakes: Avid 08 Code 203 Fr disc brake Disc Brake: Avid 08 Code 203 R disc brake Handlebars: Truvativ Handlebar Saddle:CHUMBA Cassette: SRAM PG-970 cassette 11-34 Derailleur, Rear: Sram X9 medium cage Chain Guide: MRP G2 Chain Guide Seat Collar: CHUMBA Crankset: Truvativ Holzfeller DH 170 38t Bottom Bracket: Truvativ Howitzer Team BB 83-56 Tube: Maxxis Downhill Tube, 26" x 2.5 Shock: Fox DHX 5.0 9.5, 3.0, 300lb Headset: Chris King - Pewter 1 1/8 Fork: Fox 08 40 RC2 Chain: Shimano CN7701 XTR 9-spd Chain Stem: Thomson EliteX4 0x50x31.8 slv Grips: CHUMBA Shifters: Sram X9 Trig. [-o-] Price is still being determined.
haha yeah.. I was considering this bike before the Demo 8 but price was what ultimately helped me decide on the Demo. But you can bet I'll be getting The F5 anyways! maybe try to put a motor on it.
i suggested that color. or at least i like to think i did.=) no need for more than one big bike. just need one baller one. great biuildup tho. the dh scene is gonna eat that up
who said need? I meant I want more than 1 big bike. haha might even have 3. A single speed and DJ/4X will be ahead of the second DH bike though so all is well planned
I'd second the desire for a 4x bike but besides Fontucky I don't think there are many other courses and most of the bikes are WAAAYYY beyond my skill level. It would be fun though.
I wouldn't put a King HS on anything over 5" travel. Mine is coming off the El Guapo and onto the rigid bike.
.. Hey Rob, What's your reasoning for that? As far as I know, Ted has been running King headsets on all of his DH bikes for over ten years. It's actually 145mm, but 10mm is taken up by the floater.
King head sets RULE ! Originally Posted by Rob I wouldn't put a King HS on anything over 5" travel. Mine is coming off the El Guapo and onto the rigid bike. That makes no sense to me. But ok.
.. We have a few that will be available at the end of this month, then mid-February. Hope this helps.
:?::?::?::?::?: Do you know something no one else does? Please share! I suspect that the photos of the green F5 don't do the color justice. That must look sweet out in the sun.
the candy orange is pretty sweet too... so alank whats the price of one of these built up?? spill the beans!
