A little shameless promotion of my little guy. He got in 5 practice runs this morning (shuttled 3 and hiked it twice), got a good feel for the track and took it down.. for his first time I am very stoked for him. I was hoping he would do well, not crash, etc so as to keep him pumped.. didn't expect him to take 1st. His time of 3:10.58 would have actually gotten him 3rd on the podium in the 11/12 age group, so way to go buddy..

That's epic. Congrats. How is the course for the kids and what are the age brackets I didn't know there were so many kids racing downhill

Course for the kids is the same as the Beginner/Sport course for all classes. Classes are Beginner 9-10, Beginner 11-12, 13-15, 16-18 then up from there in 5 year groupings. Lowest Sport class is Sport men 18 and under. There's an Expert class 18 and under too.

There's often 15-20 entries in the Beginner 13-15 and another 15-20 in Beginner 16-18. Yup, lots of kids out there!

Thanks to all for the kind words and support.. yes a "thanks" button would come in handy! Here's a couple of cool little action pics my wife shot down in the lower rock garden section just before that last section of the wall..

I like that Ryan is "on the gas" in that photo sequence - he's not coasting and hanging on, he's got the pedals turning!
