if you want it light at the cost of durability, get the LG-1. not quite as protective as an SRS, but much lighter (the e.13 bashguards are kinda heavy).

if you want durability, then go SRS.

either way, it'll hold the chain fine. it's just a matter of whether you plan on tagging a bunch of rocks on a regular basis

If you get a e13 make sure you get a wide angle back plate unless its the new version(which is even lighter).

Also the old version of the SRS and LG1 use same back plate so you can always convert one to other.

I need a chainguide! which means I have to figure out if i want to run 2 rings or not

running 1 for now and need to hunt one down that has the wide back plate. Didn't see that listed as on option on the MRP, and the LG1's i found locally are the regular ones

waiting on a rotor and adapter to get here in the mail, but otherwise it's rolling

The MRP G2 does not offer a wide backplate version.

As far as e13, you're kind of in between models at the moment. I don't think they've been shipping the older LG1s for a while, and the new ones (with adjustable backplates) just started going to distributors this week.

Throw on a cheap stinger and two rings then go ride, enough already...that with a medium cage that maybe all you need to keep the chain on.
