One VP actually violated the school districts policy - as the district quickly came out and stated when notified of the VP's actions.

I stated this was part of what is wrong with this country. But then folks will read only what they want to read at times. After all, why should the supposedly non-existent rights of one group of schoolkids be favored over another?

Thieves on Wall Street? Oil companies fouling our country? The scumbag POS Glen Beck?

FWIW, I get out plenty - and have lived in more than a few other countries as well - without incident. Seriously, before making this thread personal, you might consider heeding your own advice first before handing it out to others.

 

When I was in college I signed our dog up for a visit from the Mormon's and totally forgot about it until six months later when they showed up at my door asking for "Sam van Damme". I still laugh remembering the look on their faces.

 

you're being more than a little sensitive if you think my post was aimed just at you. sorry if it seemed like a personal attack...

and from what i've experienced, we're one of the only countries that gets all worked up about the flag (even though we break our own rules by wearing the flag as an article of clothing); most realize it's just a symbol. it should be obvious that we're proud of our country.

As a rule I don't take online forums or threads personally unless specifically called out. I usually don't even respond to them once they fall off the front page for the most part.

I was just going by the text of your direct response. It appeared to be directed at me specifically - since it was my post your quoted from and no others were mentioned.

Had you said "some folks need to get out more" or something similar, then I would have not thought it to be only directed only at myself.

If your intent was a general suggestion to the folks posting to the thread , then yes, I misunderstood.

Lots of these kind of talking heads on both sides of any issue on the "news" shows nowadays. I have hidden MSNBC and Fox News on my channel guide due to this stupid ping-pong match that's always going on.

One other thing: who appointed these idiots to champion our points of view on the boob-tube in the first place? beck, coulter, etc. on the right, maddow, olbermann, etc. on the left. Can't they find a group of people with differing opinions to calmly and respectfully discuss their differences using reason, logic and facts with a focus on finding a solution? Of course, the only solution they're looking for is how to driver the ratings up. I guess pissing people off with ludicrous statements gets the job done...and pays well to boot. In the end I think the whole of the art is to unify your supporters with vitriol and confuse or frustrate your opposition into yielding the point. That's why I've tuned them out.

In the end, I'd like to karate-chop them all in the throat (oops...better hope Homeland Security isn't monitoring this thread).
