OK, so I rode my friends SS 29er all weekend at Rays, and now I'm selling my Chumba and going to the "dahk" side.

Preferably steel with 80 to 100mm in the front.

PS I am in Boston, but will pay shipping costs.

    Peace! -Brendan

A STEEL HT would rip up that local track. Good luck with your search

Thats exactly what i did! (cept i went geared!!! you neanderthal LOL)

145 bucks for a frame, and do some smart shopping and you could do really well on a cheap 29er :)

Im in my Lg 737 zion 600 with reba and mavics and race face External BB cranks :)

Its definetly a good idea (probaly the best), but I just don't have the time nor the patience to do all that. I need to just buy something someone else built already.

Yeah, but then I'll spreadsheets comparing different wheels, and clicking on pricepoint/ebay/jenson/craigslist every 10 minutes, and just obsessing in general.

you mean an Evolve? or did you bud slap some 29ers on an Epi? pics man!

anyways... buying a used/built up SS 29r that would/could take the punishment from a Ray's trip or similar trails-stunts could be tough to find... just take the time and build one to your spec.

Look into the new Gary Fisher rig. I think no more than 1200. I thought to myself if was going to get a 29er I would go that route and get the Rig. 1200 should be no problem for a big baller like you

LOL, no. I meant an actual epiphany, as in the word not the bike.

I'm thinking I'll buy that 20 pound GF Rig I showed you for $700, throw a Reba on it, and bam: 23 pound rig for $1200. Then next season, maybe I'll upgrade the frame to somethin' steel.

(unless of course, someone shows up with something better)

    here you go:
    http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/market-place/14691-2-salsa-el-marichis-1-salsa-dos-niner.html

check out the medium el mariachi (or the dos niner with a tensioner). I could build you something with hope pro II hubs laced to degado discs juicy 5's mary bars or some risers, I'll toss on some tires a external bearing crankset (bontrager race) and an endless cycles cog.

Let me know if you're interested and what you would be willing to spend. One thing I don't have right now is an extra suspension fork. I think you should try the rigid first though, you might like it.
