    Focus, focus, focus.

Some cool angles and shots but some are a bit blurry. I think these two would have been sweet if the rider was in focus ...

Thanks for the input! I've definitely got a lot to learn when it comes to action photography...

HDR does a great job of making you feel like you're there.

    Nice!

Great photo - I think I can see my house in that one ;-)

I've been looking for some inspiration to get up in those hills with a camera - looks like I just got it. Let me know if you ever need a 2nd photog in the area.

Also, killer perspective on this one:

Sweet photos, way to get some color out of those hills. Ever since all the green has died off for the summer it's been looking kinda bland. It's nice to see some cool shots of my local riding hole.

What kind of camera were you using and did you do any color work to them afterwords to actually bring out the color?

Nice but like others said focus. It looks like he had a autofocus and set to focus on closest subject. One thing you can do is have someone stand where the rider will be then get the camera focused and switch to manual focus and leave it. Or make sure you set autofocus to focus on center only.

That's actually a really good idea. We were running out of time, so I couldn't do a whole lot of experimenting.

My goal on that shot was actually to have the rider out of focus and the leaves in focus, but I wanted to do another one vice versa. I'll remember that for next time!

To the defence of the rider... it's sandy in the Crook and it looks like the front wheel is washing and kicking up all the sand. If he pulled it out that's pretty cool!! Great pic either way!
