Nothing too drastic but a couple things added and some dropped. Most of the changes are on the backend code side. I do plan on adding the filter forums feature again but it'll be much smoother than before.

    Changes:
    * recent topics have 'freshness' instead of last post time
    * number of recent topics increased
    * cleaned up links under "Logged In As'
    * photos can be randomized on the fly (*should* be more 'random' than before)
    * "I've Posted Here" section added to keep tabs on threads you've been involved in

Any suggestions? Comments? What information would be interesting or helpful for you to have on the homepage?

note: haven't looked under IE yet so don't be surprised if it looks goofy right now

What makes a thread more "fresh" than others? (leave the jokes out of it)

I like the idea of having an "I've Posted Here" section. I think this section should be sorted by "last post time"

EDIT: I found out what the fresh meant.
I like it listed by "last post time" better.

    Looks good but ...

...I like the way the links are now under the "Logged in as". Maybe use a drop down menu under the new version that will have the other links.

In regards to the pictures, what about using a scrolling slide show? Maybe even vertically?

May be have the default number of posts under the "I've Posted Here" be ten and then have the "show more". :-k

Just my 1/2 cents (since I have been called a half wit in the past);)

A post that has been posted in more recently is 'fresher'. It works the same as on the current homepage. Just instead of "7:17 AM" you'll see how many minutes ago it was posted in.

I'm sure this is an issue just b/c you're in the /dev/ directory, but the links for Calendar Actions go to a 404.

I like the I've Posted Here box.

I think that it looks good. I also like that the changes are rather low key so that doens't force everyone to learn a completely new website.

This suggestion isn't really limited to the front page but can a "Mobile" program be written for better faster viewing from mobile devices like BlackBerry's???

To answer your OP question(now that I'm off my phone)....It looks good on my Mac....I like the new layout...

    Looks good.

I really like the "I've posed here" area. I do prefer the sort listed by Time (I look for new posts by refreshing the homepages and looking at the time since I last looked at it) and not Freshness, but that will be different for each user.

geo - looks good. STR remains the best functioning and athletically pleasing mtb sites around.

any word on a patch/fix/etc to get the calendar back working like before????

i agree an STR mobile, or something like that would be nice, wheer it sends PM's in an SMS text form so we can reply quicker.
It looks nice though, nice job.

It's great being able to see where you've posted... Sometimes I lose threads and that new feature helps a lot. Also dig the photo randomization feature. Nice improvements. Thanks!
