how does 8 piston brakes sound!!

Has anyone used these brakes before I think I might have to try these on my next bike!!

I think 8 pistons should modulate pretty good, and you would not have to worry about brake fade.

I use them, to death.... still haven't killed mine yet and I started out at a plump 255#s on mine. Run the stock pads until they are used up, then go get the Kool Stop sintered metallic pads. If you weigh over 220, and do long descents, set them up with 200mm rotors front and rear, 160mm if your weight is at or under 160 pounds or you are a flatlander XC rider, and 180mm if you are in between.

I clean out the residue crap with a tooth brush and brake cleaner around the caliper pistons with every set of pad changes, (about every 4 to 5 months for me), and apply a little Plumbers silicone lube before pressing the calipers back in to the bodies and installing new pads.

    Modulation? Outstanding

I like the feel of organic pads on front and sintered pads in the rear, as I tend to sometimes drag the rear brake slightly to straighten things out when things get hairy.

Most of you could probably be very happy with just 180mm rotors and sintered pads. I know I am with the 200's.

DO they make smaller rotors for people that weigh 135?
Just kidding, looks like i would end up getting the 160 rotors or 180

Some brands offer 140 mm rotors for the rear.

I've had all kinds of the brakes. avid, hayes, shimano, hope, formula, tektro, giant, magura

and still i've come back to shimano. they are still the easiest to bleed. hell you could bleed them on the trail if needed. i've even used veggie cooking oil in a pinch. sure didn;'t work that well. but it was all we had.

but the best combo so far, is a 07 lx/xt lever, with the straitline lever upgrade. and i like the 07 saint caliper, because of the banjo, being able to route your line the best

anything post mounted or even IS can be 140mm rear. just use a 160 front adapter, on the rear of the bike. it'll work with a 140mm rotor.
