Update Soooo, I did end up getting to race at Sea Otter but the Chiropractor only let me ride 1 week before hand. He is still concerned because everytime I do ride, the nerve pains come back. He is afraid I will be his only patient that doesn't heal!!! So I am still not allowed to do any exercising except occaisional racing/riding, and I have to wear the lovely back brace afterwards. I did 10 miles yesterday and I am dying today!!!! I did get a 2nd opinion and x-rays and found out that my leg length discrepency (functional) is due to cervical subluxation. Once my neck is back in place and holding, it should solve the other issues. The Spinal Decompression will help and will speed the healing process, but WILL NOT fix the "root cause". So, I have been referred to a new Chiropractor in Riverside that practices the "Blair Upper Cervical Care" method. I see him for my 1st visit tonight. I am happy to finally have answers to all my issues, but it's definitely a long haul to get it all back together. FYI, all prayers and healing vibes will be appreciated!!!
 +1,000,000,000 Had my 1st adjustment last night, it was awesome, feeling much better. My legs are acutally the same length again. Going once a week for the next few weeks to finish up the upper neck, then will move on to the lower neck.
my two cents I need to testify! I'm on day 13 after getting a microdiscectomy and it totally worked! If I can help one person by posting this it will be worth it. I had what felt like a herniated disc for 25 years, I've never known what biking or surfing without pain is like. I've had sciatica(proper term, spinal stenosis) down the right leg for four years, this year my foot went numb, couldn't stand in place or walk far without the right leg becoming retarded, i developed a nasty limp to compensate, I was literally losing my ability to walk, very depressing. I finally found a great neurosurgeon, studied everything about my injury to the point where i could examine my own mri, went to a mind blowing seminar on back problems, and came to the conclusion surgery was the only option. I had a pinched nerve L5, S1. The Operation was 45 minutes and I walked out 4 hours later, kinda sleepy lol. Day1-5 rested in bed took happy percocet, and thank god for the nba playoffs! Day 6 stopped the percocet and walked laps in the parking lot. day7 drove my car, stood in the bookstore, no pain! day8 walked 4 miles down at the beach day10 returned to work day13 post op visit, sutures removed, good to go. My advice: After being dicked around by chiropracters for years, I say, 1.find a good nuerosurgeon and get an mri. 2.Anybody manipulating your back without an mri is criminal in my book. 3. After mri, xray and "The Right" doctors opinion, become informed on your own injury to make the right decision. Some doctors will offer a cortisone shot, after reviewing my mri, i told my nuerosureon it would be a waste of time, he heartily agreed. 4. Surgery is scary, I am the ultimate no surgery guy, best thing i ever did....they just poked a hole, pulled the nerves aside, cut all the garbage out, sanded the bone spurs to a smooth oval, and kicked me out the door....I predict I'll be riding my bike on the streets around week 4 to be safe...... like i said if this helps one person I've done a good thang.:bang:
Agree... I had three of my disks done 8 weeks ago along with the shaving the insides of the vertabrae (stenosis)... I'm back to riding, gym, etc, etc... it's good to be normal!
