ok.. we are now done with chemo! her last session was friday. she had some mixed feelings about no longer having her chemo treatment. during treatments she felt like we're actively doing something, but now she's kind of afraid of the unknown. we'll be checking in with the doctors periodically, but no surgeries until next year. her hair is starting to grow back. looks like we're going to have a "normal" holiday. again thank you all for your prayers and support.

happy new year all! well it's been a while and i'd thought i'd do a quick update. we had a great thanksgiving and christmas although i was pretty much sick the entire month of december and am still not over it yet. moving to fontucky has worked out pretty well for us except for the days i have to walk down the street to retrieve our trash bins and my 100 mile commute each day. my wife will be going in on the 18th of this month for her double mastectomy and the start of her reconstruction. three weeks later she'll need to go in for radiation treatment daily over the span of five weeks. the whole reconstruction process will take about two years to complete. we still have a long way to go and she's a bit nervous about this surgery because it will alter her appearance, but on the flip side she's excited that her hair is almost to a length were she can leave the house without anything covering her head. i'll continue to keep you all update as things move along.

Phew! I'm so happy to hear that the surgery was successful. It sounds like your wife is a strong woman and has a wonderful husband by her side right now to help her through this. :) I'll be sending lots of love and positive thoughts to you both that she heals quickly and you both continue to be so brave and strong.

Happy Easter! Boy does time fly. It was 1 year ago today that my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. When we were first informed we thought it was the end of the world, but here we are enjoying life as best we can. Even though she's been doing daily radiation treatments, our spirits are high and things are "normal" again. We have made it a goal to do as much as we can to enjoy life to the fullest. She's also started going to the hair salon to get her hair did. This diagnosis was a bump in the road, but we put up a fight and we're kicking its arse. We've been blessed to have support from so many and are very grateful. Keep an eye out for our second annual think pink ride/bbq coming soon.

hey all. just a quick update:

june and july have been pretty crazy for us. towards the end of june i got sick and was quarantined at home for about 2 weeks (i got the cooties). and on the july 19th my wife went back in for reconstructive surgery. everything went well and her recovery this time was pretty quick. she was around 85% her normal self 2 days after surgery. with all that was going on we managed to make time to do things with the kids so they'd have a fun summer. summer is finally winding down and my wife starts working again this week and the kids will be back in school next monday. this has been a busy summer. i think we're done with surgeries for a while. will keep you guys posted if anything new comes up.

oh.. the wife got ink'd. check the blog if you want to see a picture of it. yes i know she's gansta like that.. lol
