I need to get my RS Vivid coil overhauled, so I went to Garageworks' website and called them a few times, I have only gotten an answering machine, no people. Do they not answer their phone? I left a voicemail, but no call back?....

I was hoping to drop off my shock locally instead of sending it to Push, but Push customer service is looking really good about now...

edits: ooops, noticed youre in Dana Point. I only ship out Saturdays. You may be better off with Push or GW.

thanks for the updated contact info!

I called Steve and was quoted $150 to overhaul the shock. The price actually seems fair for the work, but I now I'm starting to wonder if I should buy a new (vivid coil $300, ccdb $450), used ($150-$250 on PB), or just repair my shock (~3 yrs old). What would you do?

If youre not happy with the shock, then buy a different one. When buying used, I'd still have it rebuilt though.

If you're happy with the shock, a full rebuild will change o-rings, seals, glide rings, detent balls, detent springs, schrader valve, etc etc and new oil. I wouldn't buy a new one for 20 bucks more if I know the shock I already have is going to be rebuilt properly.

Yep then another $150 as the places they can be sent is limited. Garage works did get mine back real quick.
