There is no leash laws in that section of the National Forest. Again someone commenting on a trail they never rode. And what makes one think that the recorded video is the same group of riders. Just spin the facts to support your agenda...one would think that politicians rode bikes.

Are you sure about that? I tried searching and could only find this:

    "
The policy on pet dogs in all areas of the forest is as follows: Always keep your dog leashed, except when inside a vehicle, tent, dog crate, or portable kennel. Do not allow your dog to wander freely, pursuant to Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 36, Chapter II, Sec. 261.8 (d).
While on a trail or in and around campgrounds and picnic areas, dogs must be kept on a leash (unless caged or crated) no longer than six feet, pursuant to CFR, Title 36, Chapter II, Sec. 261.16 (j)."

You may be right but we run trail dogs often in the National Forest. How would you ever hunt with a dog on a leash.

Really? What about the over dressed rider cutting the trail in the first few seconds and being cheered on for doing so with a, "Nice, Nice"? That video just validates what people have been saying that body armor on a multi use trail sends the message that you have no skills or your going to tear it up because you think you're RAD.

Plus, Why should anyone care if a well behaved dog is off leash anyways? There are way worse animals in the forest than a dog.

A well behaved MTB in armor is just as good as a well behaved German Shepard. Both are no threat but scary looking none the less.

Wow, it's amazing to see how this incident is being talked about on multiple forums. Anyone got the link to the hiking forum?

The last thing we need is the STR peanut gallery posting up in hiking forums and stirring up the hikers. Better to just let their posts fade away.

I saw the post on the hiking forum - its way less emotional than this thread - no-ones making a big stink except us defensive bikers.
