Saturday, 2 days ago, we rode up on a knocked out rider after he crashed coming down the steep slope just before getting on Rosecrans. If you guys can keep riders from riding that, try to keep them off that drop. This is the 2nd rider I come across that needed to be taken by ambulance.

I know exactly where you are talking about... few of our friends crashed at the same spot... one got a broken arm and other got picked up by an ambulance ... need to watch if you are taking newbies out there...

Does anyone have a video or photo footage of this steep slope? Would love to see what part of the loop is knocking people out and putting them into ambulances..

I have no idea what drop would be near Rosecrans. As far as I can recall, there isn't one anywhere near there.

Maybe it wasn't Rosecrans? Mormon hill has taken a few out, but that's off Euclid. The hill up by Gilbert maybe?

I believe he is referring to the Steep one on the left after Grissom Park right after you cross Parks.

that was my thought as well. newbies crash enough on the downslope if you go straight. this hill is on the upper left, where the no bikes sign is.

I believe they call that hill heart attack. I have seen the good and bad on that hill. I loving riding that hill down, just start in the middle at the top then stay on the right side all the way down and the final part of it jump off with the speed. Just my two cent in this.

There is no one place that takes out at the loop. Every part is an equal opportunity crash spot.

A friend of mine crashed here 2 years ago...broken collarbone, broken ankle and concussion (lost short term memory for an entire day).

After the collarbone and ankle healed a month later, it was discovered that surgery was needed on both to correct miss-alignment #-o

This is a beginner trail. People just need to know their limits. If you aren't sure you can ride something, don't. Build your skills and do it when they are up to par.

I was thinking it was the part along the fence that has the no bikes sign.

Maybe they started on the topmost part where there is a sign tellingyou not to go down from there.

Someone needs to check Strava and see who has KOM on that section. That would be awesome!

It has to be at the bottom of the hill. People who aren't experienced including me tend to lock their brakes until they feel they are safe and most of the time until they hit the bottom, lose control and off they go. I havent been on it since my Rigid '92 Avalanche so it has been almost a year for me.

10 pages here we come....Just throw in a little Horse poop and Unicycle and you are going to make jasonmason go straight to the "what are you drinking thread " before 5:00 PM

If you take the drop right down through the middle of the tree park it is much worse IMO. It gets really sandy and washed out and people try and go too fast end up losing it. I know 2 crashes that come to mind and one them had an ambulance come down the trail to get the lady the other resulted in a cracked helmet and a pretty dizzy rider that walked back to the courthouse.

If the loop is a "noob" trail then it makes sense that you would have noob riders crashing in areas that "more experienced" riders would find easy.
