So I had this gift certificate from the Trash For Cash contest this past Summer. It was for a "MTB Tune Up" at Cycle Pro in Lake Forrest, supposedly worth $75.:lol::lol: This place is a joke for anyone serious about their bikes. I wouldn't take my sister-in-law's Electra cruiser in there, let alone a bike worth thousands of dollars. The owner was pretty jolly and salesman like when I walked in (although he did bail on a lady he was helping), but quickly showed he true colors when I mentioned the gift certificate. He realized that he wasn't going to be making any cash off of me and adjusted his attitude. I asked if there was a chance that I could trade him the certificate for a small bottle of chain lube or maybe some chain cleaner and he said "hey buddy go pleasure yourself" without actually saying it. So I asked the woman in the store what she buying and she said she was getting a mountain bike tune. So I gave her the gift certificate and left. It's really a shame that there are so many bike shops in so cal and almost all of the are worthless. To you who own/operate these shops: Is it any wonder that people buy their stuff off of the internet? Are you really that surprised when someone who lives within walking distance for your store AVOIDS going there at all cost? If only the internet could teach me how to bleed brakes... OH WAIT.
WOW Really.. Dude i am so sorry. It is the shop i use and have never had an issue. I will see if i can make down there this week and give him a little hell.... and yea I paid him $75 for it Normally what he charges for a full MBT tune.
