Ok, so I watched that little special on the Ironman championships yesterday and the guy who had the fastest bike split had it in 4 hours and 18 minutes. Thats for 112 miles. That's gotta be like 25-26mph average speed. That is fast!! I did like 24 mph for 10 miles and my legs were jello. Those are some amazing athletes.

(I know this isn't really road content, but I thought that was a really fast time for a 112 mile ride, especially because it was done after a 2.4 miles swim and energy had to be saved on the bike ride for the 26.2 miles run afterwards.)

Never stops to amaze me what those elite athletes can do. A few times that I've been at the same races and seen then race was a real treat. There is not a better athlete in any sport then a triathlete. The top guys then run a sub 3 hour marathon.
My fastest century ever was 5 hours 28 minutes and my best marathon was 5 hours 10 minutes.
