My general Whiting Loop takes about 40mins. The latest I've started was about 7:30 and I was able to finish right in time before it got dark. You'll be totally fine starting at 6PM.

I am slow and do the standard loop in under an hour and fifteen.

It gets darker than most on the back side of whiting. Small hills and brush cover any little bit of light that's left. You can keep it standard with Cattle pond/Marks bench and Vulture thrown in the mix. For your safety (if you get hurt), in the late hours-stay away from Vista/Dread and Edison, they are the paths less traveled = )

Get out there and have fun.

No problem man! Like CarbonLegs said, the backside of Whiting does get a bit dark between all the overhead trees after, I would say about 7:45.

First ride in over a month...and on a single speed (= SLOW) and we did all kinds of extra credit. We started at 6:30 last night, and had no problem finishing before dark.

Be leery of what Julie says. She is a sandbagger. :)

Probably a good idea to bring a light of some kind in case of mechanical though, right? Still, I think you have decent twilight until about 7:45 right now, even in the spooky trees of the back side. Sounds fun!
