While registering for this years Pow Wow I noticed an option for "event protection" during the last part of checking out. Not wanting to risk losing my spot I just went ahead and clicked "yes", I think it was like 9 bucks. After I completed the registration I got an email from Allianz Global Assistance going over the coverage they offer.

Well thanks to the horrible traction of the Maxxis Ikon (yes, I'm blaming the tire) I ended up with an injury that forced me to sit out this years Counting Coup. I went ahead and filled a claim with Allianz. Pretty easy for medical, they just needed documentation from the doctor and a copy of my event registration confirmation. I submitted my paper work on April 4th and this afternoon I had a check in the mail for the full amount of registration.

Not sure how many events offer this, but I figured I'd share my experience just in case they do event coverage for something you're signing up for in the future.

VERY COOL! Sorry about your injury though, but thanks for the posts. There are always a lot of DNS's and I know personally of a few that were due to illness/injury. Hope you heal up soon.

That is a 3rd party .....it has nothing to do with Warrior's Society.....we have no connection/alliance with them.

I believe they are contracted through Active.com.

It does not change the way we do things.

It doesn't sound like anyone thinks you would make changes.

I ran that for the first time in VQ...... Sooooooo sketchy on the high speed sections on Main Divide.

Sorry to hear you got hurt. Hope it wasn't anything serious.

It has been offered through Active for several years.....at first registered riders thought it was us offering it.

Just wanted to make sure that everyone was clear on that.

Not an issue on the rear tire(that is what I ran).....but wouldn't have run it up front either.

Yeah, I had it on the front too. Not my best choice. It hooked up ok on Holy jim, trabucco and (believe it or not) motorway, but I was all over the place on the main divide.
