For me thats not a problem, as I have never cared if I'm ahead or behind any one ( unless they're kicking up too much dust in my face).
Only use I've ever had for this site was to see my stats, and if I'm getting faster up a hill.

    On the internet? never happens!

I'm a total data junkie -- this site is such a huge improvement to the data Strava collects. I use it more than Strava. This site is way improved to where it was 2 years ago (I dug it even then).

Btw does anyone know if you can change the record of your highest climb? On mine it doesn't show my highest climb. I don't get it. Has anyone else seen this on their profiles?

    I have a KOM - for a segment I've never even ridden!

Seeing the discrepancies between Strava and Map My Ride makes me wonder what else they're getting wrong...

    Speaking of Strava........

There are bunch of kids in my community that ride mbikes. My son and I were thinking of creating a club in Strava for them but they are all under 18. Do you have to be 18 to use Strava?

    Thanks

I apologize in advance if the question has been raised already. Haven't kept up with the post and with over 900 responses, a bit much to get through.

I recently bought a Forerunner since I started running a bit (one of those life/work/kids points of life that has limited my workout time). The Forerunner connects through ANT and has worked perfectly fine so far -- I actually used it on a couple rides but realized I still like my Edge 500 for riding b/c the barometric altimeter. Now when I try and download my Edge data on Strava, it doesn't recognize the device. I searched the Strava knowledge database and someone recently posted the same dilemma. Strava's response was:

"Because the Forerunner device using the ANT USB stick, all the files transferred from the device are first stored in a local directory before they are uploaded to Strava (or Garmin Connect). The Strava uploader probably sees the old local directory from your Forerunner before it sees your Garmin Edge.
We don't have a way to set a default device, but you could remove the Forerunner device from the ANT Agent software if you're no longer using it.
    Hope that helps!"

Not much of a help. GarminConnect doesn't have a problem speaking with either of the devices. Unfortunately my solution now is to download the data on GarminConnect and export the data as TPX, then upload to Strava manually. If anyone out there has a better solution, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

When you click uploaded, then click th eget started button under garmin, you should see multiple devices. Just select to upload from you edge instead of your forerunner. I do it all the time.

If that doesn't work, you can select to upload from a file and just browse to the proper directory where you garmin is located.

If that doesn't work....make sure you have plugged in the edge unit. It wont connect through the ant+ stick like the forerunner will. If it is plugged in, unplug and re-plug. Sometimes my edge goes into an external power mode and the computer doesn't recognize it. A quick un-plug/re-plug usually fixes that.

Strange, Garmin Connect currently works for me in both Classic and Modern modes in Google Chrome "Version 36.0.1985.125 m" on Windows 7 Professional...

Same version Chrome.....but on Windows 8.1 the Modern mode doesn't work. No problem with the Classic mode.

None of the prompts on the left work.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but why is it that when I upload a ride from my Garmin (Edge 305), it always inflates the elevation by 200-300 feet? I have to press the "correct elevation" button at which point, my elevation goes back to about what the Garmin unit says. So why doesn't it take what the Garmin says at face value in the first place.

Anyone know why Strava ditched the day/week/month leader board? I stalked... errr, met some great people that way.
