    Can't wait

    Awesome!

The website mentions a route card, do we know the size of that roughly? Is it something I can easily mount to the top of my stem?

I'm not sure 100% what it will look like, but I would say at a minimum it would a turn by turn slip for the road portions. Probably won't be as fancy as last year's awesome addition.

AND GOOD NEWS: After heating up early in the week, it's projected to cool down a bit by the end... hope that holds true! Heat was a bummer last year... :-(

Can we download the route? I did that last year and it was a lot better than following a route slip.

It's going to be posted on several GPS mapping and social performance evaluation sites and will downloadable as a GPX file from them. Riding it through on Sat to make all segments are up to date and included on the route.

    And here we go: http://redlands-strada-rossa.blogspot.com/2015/03/2015-strada-rossa-official-route-reveal.html

Both routes rode this weekend, unfortunately technology failed us an there will not be a Strava option. Guess you're going to have to ride it for the fun of it!!! :)

As I mention in the posting linked above, I recommend going for the 100, and if you can't quite make it, cutting off some of the middle miles (kilometers!) and bagging the Crafton portion. That's the best part IMHO.

Gonna' be a good one, good people!

I am not a premium member of Ride with GPS so I can't download the file. If anybody has another source to download, it would be most appreciated.
Looking forward to a fun day...route looks even better than last years. :)

You dont need to be, start an account, save the route to "my routes" and then you can download it from "my routes" page.

    Yep, that worked!
I found this video to be helpful in how to download a course onto my Garmin 500...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO6z83sOBdw
Looking forward to a great ride! I have a quest to reach Hangar 24 :)

    Thanks for posting that tutorial!

Strangely, both routes just randomly happen to go right by Hangar 24... weird, huh. Fingers crossed, there may yet be a small cross-promotion happening with them. More to (hopefully) follow on that...

Escape brews, OH- and soft drinks, will be served at the finish as well! Not part of reg. price though...

There are five Hanger 24 bail outs if you can't get up Crafton. Three still have dirt, and two are all road because you need a beer NOW!!

How much will the beer cost?

But don't give up on Crafton... it's the best part!!!

Escape beers at the end will probably be $5 a pint. That's just a guesstimate, I'm not on that committee... :)

Of course not, don't give up on Crafton. I'm going to do my best to finish the whole route. The views are absolutely amazing, but I just threw the thought out because some of us will have already been in the red when we get to that point. Even if a rider has to skip Crafton, stop at H24 and the finish line, the ride will have been well over 50 miles and pretty close to 5000 ft. of elevation gain.

Indeed, LOTS options out there... I'm hoping people are looking over the routes and coming up w/ backup plans A, B, and C!!! I'm going to do a post on the blog later this week going over the intuitive points to keep in mind for alt/bail options.

And as much as I love Crafton... gotta' tell you, El Dorado/Potato Canyon and Wildwood State Park are some fantastic places to see as well!!! Really, this is a highlights tour of all the great dirt in our area. Hopefully out of towners will be inspired to come back and further explore in detail!!!

    Route Slips

I've been wanting to sample Redlands/Yucaipa/Calimesa/Oak Glen dirt for half a decade.

On the route slips, is there any significance to the backwards counting sectors?

I received the email on Sunday. Maybe I'm blind but I can't find an address for where the ride starts.

Well about time you got out this way! Some really great, accessible riding. This is a partial fund-raiser for IEBA (after insurance, food, route markings, etc, they ain't making much), but hugely just to promote riding in the area. I'm biased, but believe you'll love it! Sector's are numbered down to finish like they do in Paris-Roubaix. Just a wink and a nod at them

You're not the first to ask that, will need to clarify it, thanks for point that out! It's beginning at the Redlands Bike BBQ/Augie's Coffee alleyway: https://goo.gl/maps/bPr8a Parking is at the defunct Redlands Mall: https://goo.gl/maps/nezvM
