Clifford just gave me a puck (pics later).

Some guy just surprised his lady...
Warmups end... She gets ready to walk up to her seat (different section). He informs her they are sitting front row. She is still crying. Awesome.

    "So, how 'bout those Dodgers?"

to me, has always been the classic diversionary phrase to lead the conversation away from a topic I want to avoid... ie. Kings lose

    Last night's game...

    Security
Not sure if they increased security or simply handed out additional RED coats...
What I do know is: I was in awe of the message being sent (before fans even made their way into the arena)

    Fans
Sharks fans were loud and proud. Many of them watched warm-ups (lots of cheering... pounding on the glass). I love the REGULAR SEASON Kings fans (loyal, knowledgeable, sell out every game, have known many for years)... During the playoffs, part-time fans/corporate ticket people ruin it for me. I almost "lost it" when I overheard a corporate jackass say, "well, looks like it's time for me to jump off the bandwagon."

    Quick
Feel bad for the guy... His teammates have REALLY let him down!
He's our goalie. Keep him in net. He is not the problem!

    Defense
Out of position. Watching the puck rather than protecting areas of the ice. One step slow. Not clearing pucks.... Basic stuff people!

    Bad luck
The Kings gave up three "bad luck" goals on Tuesday...
They may have given up two more on Thursday.
Not an excuse. Can't imagine how deflating it must be to give up those types of (playoff) goals!

    Penner
WOW. Slow. Doesn't hit anyone. Doesn't stand in front of the net. Short shifts. Penalties. Not gelling with the team. Doesn't seem right to give him power play minutes!

Clifford has quietly become a fan favorite (effort)...
Smyth went ballistic on the refs 2 or 3 times last night (during commercials)

    LOW POINT:
Witnessed a few THUGS giving Sharks fans a hard time (post game).
One Sharks fan (drunk... Harley looking guy) was filing a report with the RED COATS
The RED COATS took his ticket- anyone know why they would do that?
I would say 99.9% of Ducks/Sharks fans were very respectful!

Clifford gave me a puck! :bang:

I'm still upset about the comment that corporate jackass made ("looks like it's time to jump off the bandwagon"). I had never seem him before. The owners of the seats are longtime season seat holders (not sure why they would miss a Playoff game... why give your tickets to that guy- 50's, Khaki pants, forgot that work ended at 5pm)....

I soooo WISH this kid was sitting next to... next to that...

    nice overview dino.

here is my take on a few players.

penner- biggest let down ever, does he always skate in slow motion?
greene- what has he contributed lately? other than taking stupid penalties, he hasn't done squat
brown- while he wears the C, it seems like he needs to step it up and FINISH/BURY loose pucks around the net
poni- i like this kid a lot, skates hard, sets the tone, isnt afraid to mix it up
clifford- charlie hustle award! stepping up as a force to be reckon with when it comes time to scrap, im excited to watch him develop
westgarth- he has actually played a bit better towards the end of the season, especially his forechecking.... im still on the fence though
williams- coming back pretty strong, always been in the mix
smyth- i like him, i dont have too much to say. his intensity is something others should follow
stolli- i dunno, he has his moments of goodness, pretty solid overall
quick- has saved our asses time and time again, does make me nervous when handling the puck at times
bernier- great potential, feel a bit better with him handling the puck rather than quick, but he needs more starts/which mean more confidence
mitchell-scrappy, not afraid to mix it up, i like him
johnson- you can count on him, nothing really stands out, plays level headed, doesnt take excessive and pointless penalites (see matt greene)
martinez- i like this kid, he ads a bit of pizazz to our blue line
doughty- im not sure where his head has been, but it hasn't been in the game. he too has taken some bad penalites, which have lead to goals
simmonds- always exciting to watch, has a unique style...like brown, there have been a few loose pucks that seem like he should have been able to bury

like dino mentioned, it seemed to me that many players have been caught out of position, and chasing the puck, thus leaving other opposing players open and eventually leading to scoring opportunities.

thats all i can think of for now.

Quicker had to do his Patrick Roy impersonation in game 5. 51 saves. Way to go Quick. Hope he can be as dominant on Monday.

Yeah, you can't allow 4 goals and expect to win. But I don't think it was necessarily Emery. The Ducks just got beat. It's a sad day :(

def wasnt emery's "fault". he played pretty good, but you can easily assume Hiller would let in atleast 1 less every game IMO. he doesnt have good enough rebound control.

Hiller is like Quick, he can win games all by himself. Definitely hurt the Ducks not having him.

Sad day in my household. I am praying it was not the last time I see the Finnish Flash on the ice..... The way he played in the series, leaving everything on the ice, and his face near the end of the game kind of indicated to me this was his last season. By far my favorite player ever, from his time in Winnipeg, and all through the years, I have never enjoyed watching a player more than he.

I have a feeling he'll be back with Paul next year. I have to buy some tickets to a Kings game now. They have never won when I have been to a game or watched on TV.

Well, another sad day for hockey in Socal. :( The Kings gave the Sharks all they could handle though.

At least we have a couple of Game 7's on tonight.
