Is there anyone doing this race on Nov 2nd? I will be and this is my first race. For those that have done it before how was it? I'm not really fast when it comes down to it but do you think 2 months is enough time to get in fairly good shape so I don't come in last?

If I ride this race, it will be my first. My goal will be to finish. First, last, whatever...

Where is this race at? I might make a showing for my first MTB race since 2002 in Mt. Snow.

8 weeks is plenty of time to get into better shape to race beginner. Technical skills and climbing.

It's in Walnut, nearby Cal Poly Pomona.

Mt. SAC's race is awesome: I felt that there was a very good vibe to the whole thing. It's a perfect race for first-timers.

    I'm 99% sure I'll be there! I'm aiming for a podium spot. :)

I think my buddy and I are going to give it a go, we have only been riding for a couple months now. Should be fun!

Maria wants to try the Big Rig out for this race. Now we just need to find somebody to watch Adam. We tried the course last year pulling Adam and there were a few areas that were too narrow. Otherwise we'd give it a try with him in tow. Maria wants to blast down that last big downhill.

Is anyone from SD heading up there? I'd like to race but driving that far sucks alone, lol.

Most people register ahead of time. I sent an email to the promoter [email protected] to find out why it is not available yet.

Yes, it's a good beginner course.

Description: A rolling course with two steep climbs per 6-mile loop, and 1/4 mile steep downhill per loop. You pass through tunnels twice per loop as you race on mostly packed dirt.
