yup you guessed it another newb

Hello all... Just started riding... enjoying it so far even though i havent hit a trail... just riding round Westminster, Fountain Valley and so forth... Met Mongo through pm earlier cool guy who gave me some advice on a ride if i needed one... (which i do until i get a rack that works with my car) Hopefully i'll get my son into trails and i looked forward to meeting and riding with ya'll at some point.

Sounds like fun but i dont have a rack for my bike yet... but i might see if i can ride down to Costa Mesa Loop 2... its only about 7 or 8 miles from my house... maybe in a week or two ill do the ride... if its not that bad maybe ill bring my son the next time. thanks for link though...

sorry i havent gone on a ride with you guys yet... my bike has only seen the beach these past two weeks... trying to build up some endurance... but i managed a 31.6 mile ride today... i think its decent for my 4th ride on my single speed...now it feels like something is wrong with my bottom bracket... oh well i was thinking about getting a new crankset and bottom bracket anyways...

 

welcome--and nice progress! i'm in h.b. through the end of the month; there is some dirt to be had around central park and bolsa chica. lemme know if you want to check it out sometime.

 

yeah most likely next saturday... im trying to ride 30+ miles on saturdays and finally hitting dirt and not sand would be fun, ill let ya know by thursday... if i dont have a new bottom bracket ill still go riding but wont ride to hard in the dirt...

ill see how it goes... too many hills on a single speed sounds challenging but fun... if not ill ride easier trails till i can do the harder ones... i just hate the idea of a helmet... but i know i must wear one.

 

My mom of all people made me promise to wear one, when i told her i refused to buy one she gave me the money and made me promise to wear it... So when i got to the trails i left it in the car, yet something in the back of my head (maybe my brother) told me to put it on, i crashed later that day, had a concussion, with the helmet... Could have gone MUCH worse... makesure to wear one.

 

yeah ive been told i must wear one... she would kill me if i didnt... i use to ride motorcycles and got taken out by a lincoln... helped was totalled... i only broke my wrist in two spots... and twisted my back up... riding seems to be helping a little too

 

Sorry about not meeting up this weekend... something is wrong with my bike. i thought it was the tension on the chain so i was adjusting it but it didnt fix the problem. I'll have to take it to a shop and have them figure it out. Guess its a good thing i wont be in town this up coming weekend,,

 

ok... so i went MIA for a minute... even before i met up for a ride... i know sad... well i am back... again.

No longer have the Schwinn Single Speed (loaned it to my friend) Now im on a Gary Fisher Big Sur (1996) with gears... lol. I will definately make it out soon. I am trying to get some other friends into riding too.
