    Maybe some time at a BMX track or some Pump track would be a benefit to you.
    I don't know where you are in terms of hucking skill level.
    Not only will you be able to practice the the hucking but you can observe other
    more experienced riders. Ask questions about technique and suspension set up.
    Take these guys up on their offers for shuttle/huck rides learn from their crashes not yours! HEE hee hee :lol:
    Oh yeah, make sure you have good health insurance and it is paid up!

    Being in Newbury Park you are somewhat in the middle between two fairly close tracks you can ride;

    Freedom Park - in Camarillo 5$ plus you need an annual ABA membership. I am not to sure about riding a mtb at Freedom as I have not tried to ride there so you may want to call them.

    Sycamore BMX Here in Simi 10$ no membership required
    I do know Sycamore allows mtb's on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and does not require an annual ABA membership.
