I wish I could have not only seen the looks on their faces, but felt the sheer sense of "...oh my god, we're f*cked..." those b@stards must have felt that instant they realized SHE WAS STILL ALIVE and she sent the cops to them.

That's a great start to justice (vengeance?) by itself!

Things like this are complicated though...I don't want to pay for these animals with my tax dollars to live in a Motel-6 prison, but at the same time, I'm not really an advocate of "an eye for an eye" either. Arrrrgh my head hurts!

Sorry for posting late on this but I thought I would weigh in given my job experience. I base my opinion on their ages and surnames. And I have testified in court as a gang expert on these types of cases.

This sounds like a gang related incident and would be consistent with a witness being silenced. She said, "I thought they were my friends."

Which leads me to believe that if these were gang members, she would be an obvious associate of theirs. Either as a fellow gang member/associate, or as a girlfriend of one of these three. Or the girlfriend of someone who is in custody.

The three suspects in custody will likely face assaults themselves from fellow gang members for failing in their mission. They will also likely be assumed to have told the authorities who ordered them to do the act. Even if they invoke their rights to remain silent and say nothing.

A lot of young women get wrapped up in the "bad boy" scene and these types of characters. They are oftentimes present, have knowledge of, or participate in criminal acts and are often "silenced" to prevent them from testifying. Even if they have no intention of cooperating with the po-po.

Whew, feels like I just got off the stand with this post.#-o

Here is a good article that I remember from several years back in Outside Magazine on body dumps in the ANF.
