I just listed my On-one Inbred 29er and didn't pay anything. was I supposed to somehow? Is that why I have not had one PM yet?

Question: can you edit your add in the current classifides? I couldn't find it.

I would much rather have the old "forum" style. in case I'm asking too much or people want to know more. it's more interactive.

Not sure if it still cost to place an add now that there's some advertising done on STR now. Also, you can edit your add by clicking the "Product Option" on the header just below the "Place An Add"

The problem was that some of those post also got no replies or replies from those who really weren't interested in the product, but instead would post something negative about the add in which we had to moderate too often. Also "bumped" too often so it would stay on the front page.

I like the new classifieds section for the following reasons:

    1. It's separated into categories that are easily searchable.

    2. Regular forum messages are not cluttered with classified ads or the discussion of them.

    3. It's simple to read ALL the ads in chronological order by creating a bookmark for STR Classifieds. (I hope that link displays properly here)

If anything, perhaps the existing Classified section could be improved by getting the PM's to work.

I definitely don't miss the days of in-forum marketplace. For pretty much the reasons Gene stated.

I used to moderate on a car forum, there couldn't be enough moderators to keep the sales section from becoming a mad house. Too many peanut gallery posts regarding pricing, etc.

Being that Gene is the only moderator left on here I'm pretty sure having to fix problems in the old style marketplace would just drive him away that much faster.
