I have Schwalbe Muddy Mary 2.5 DH tires. Theyre heavy and huge! I'm thinking, 2.35 Magic Marys may allow me to lose somes weight, and Ive noticed that I have the biggest tires wherever I go. Almost no one runs Schwalbe 2.5s, theyre like Maxxis 2.7s.

    What are you running?

Just finished rebuilding my trail bike. Now doing my DH bike for the next season and setting up new wheels, and looking to put in new tires if I decide to size down.

    Thanks.

Hey Bing! Just to understand your question, you are asking what size people are running on their DH rigs, right? You are not asking what they run on their trail bike, right? Sorry if this is obvious, I'm easily confused.

The only tire you need is a Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5".

DH two ply 60 durometer if you are rough.

If you are smooth go with the EXO Folding 2.5 60 durometer.

These are by far the winningest DH tires of all time.

Yeah, dh. I could've explained it clearer, but being in the adrenaline forum, I thought it may have been redundant.

Thanks by the way for the suggestions above. I will be considering the minions.

This^ I just put minions on my T275 after recommendations from rodgerdoger and they are awesome! Way better than the HD's that were on there. I will be getting some for my Uzzi before next summer.

Loving the minion in the rear. Corners like crazy. Drifts a bit than hooks up like crazy. Still like the hd up front though.

Can't go wrong with Minion DHFs 2.5. They are not as macho looking as other brands because they run a little skinny, but they are probably the most versatile and trusted tire for DH in the world. When Atherton was paid to run Continentals, he often chose Minions and blacked out the sidewalls. When Gwin was paid to run Bontragers when he first switched to Trek, he raced blacked-out Minions (Bontrager then redesigned all of their tires and got it right). Another option is to throw a High Roller DH in the back - Minnaar style.

Oh yeah, and the (Frank Stacy designed) Bontrager G4 and G5 get good reviews. Here's one: http://blistergearreview.com/gear-reviews/bontrager-g5

This is a bit off topic as they aren't true DH tires, but thought these newish Bontrager SE4 "aimed at enduro" tires seem like a good concept. Same tread as the XR4, extra reinforcement in the tread and sidewalls, and somewhat soft 55 durometer. 941 grams. Might be the ticket for some heavyweight hard chargers who tend to poke holes in the tread (looking at you MAMB) but don't want the weight of a 2 ply DH tire for trail rides. I've no experience with them but glad to see some new concept "middle-weight" tires showing up to the market.

I run 2.4 HR2 on my bike. It's basically a 6in DH bike, so I like them. I had them front and rear, but I felt they were a little too slow and sluggish in the rear, so I put on a nobby nic. But after riding around, I think I might put my HR2 back on the rear, just to see how it is again, after I've gotten used to the bike. Minnions may also come into play at the front.
