Are you kidding? Boy STR has gotten really tame if nobody has started a Redbull Rampage thread 6 hours after the event is over. The wind scrubbed out the last ten or so riders of the second run, so the contest was decided on the strength of the first run. Kind of a shame, since I am sure that the big names were gonna throw down some huge efforts to outdo the deceptively calm (even unspectacular) first round leader's run. Great runs by Cam Zink (spoiler alert - he didn't die), Andreu Lacondeguy, Kyle Strait, Kelly McGarry (all 6'5" of him), Tyler McCaul and many more. A few painful injuries including one of our Fontana regulars. RedBull TV or... http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Live-Today-Red-Bull-Rampage.html
STR is 14 days... Too weak... Web site still sucks, Took over a month to get only a patch. Still can't give "thanks" or "likes". Has an owner that doesn't give a fuk! Hasn't had a make over in 9 years. I might check back in a month. If not, meh... George, Let the fuk go!!! Give it to someone who gives a fuk!!
I'm pretty sure there is a Rampage thread. I didn't see anyone else complaining about the site. Back on topic, I've been following the progress all weekend, but I have yet to watch the finals. Must be good, Can't wait!
I watched the whole thing. Super dope but bummed that it was stopped due to wind. Some of the biggest air tricks ever but also some of the most gnar falls which were horrible to see. Zink's flip looked too easy.
That's the amazing thing about this sport (and many others) - it looks and probably feels so easy when it's done right. But things can go so seriously wrong so easily. (Heal quickly Logan - hope to see you at Fontana). If you think about the physics of a backflip, there's only about a 10 degree "acceptable zone of success" in a 360 degree rotation - not very good odds. And that's not taking into account the rider/bike interface (slipping a foot) or yaw (off axis problems). Zink said he felt like he was upside down forever - so how did he know and control his rate of rotation off something that big, at the speed he was dropping, with no real practice? The human computer is amazing! His courage - unfathomable.
Check out Tyler's POV, HOLY CRAP I shit my pants! http://www.redbull.com/us/en/bike/stories/1331617938704/rampage-2013-tyler-mccaul-pov
