Sick through most of December (thanks visiting family), finally recovered but had persistent, chronic sinus issues, then at the end of last week people started dropping like flies at work I was out from the weekend until yesterday. Coughing up brown/green/bloody mucus, chills followed by 104+ fevers and overall blah-ness. Fun times.

I'm hoping to get back on the bike this weekend a little bit. On a positive note, at least it gave me some time to rest and start healing after a nice five-foot drop, OTB landing on my side a couple weeks ago left my hip and upper leg severely swollen and bruised.

H1N1 is going around. I got it around New Years despite a flu shot. I get a flu shot every year, first time for the flu in about 8 years. I think this must be a mutated strain.

Normal flu takes days to hit you. H1N1 will hit you in 3-6 hours, all of a sudden. Stuff comes out violently out of both ends, despite chamomile tea, pepto, ginger, imodium, etc. I could not keep anything down, so despite conventional advice, I completely stopped drinking and eating anything including water. Only after that did my stomach calm down. I was in bed for about 48 hours straight.

Fever is common with H1N1, so I would take a both tylenol and ibuprofen right after throwing up, hoping to get some in my system before I threw up again.

    Worst flu in years.
