2 weeks DOWN and out... Rode easy on Sunday (group) still couldn't get a full deep breath, which makes riding a single speed tough. Had tons of fun anyway.

Gonna take some time to get back the endurance I was working on. :(

You've gotta catch it within the first few days to nip it in the butt with Tamiflu.
I got it on a Friday HARD, went to doc on Sunday and I was back 100% by Tuesday. That's the key...get Tamiflu right away.
If you wait...well..sorry and good luck

Why no flu shot? It's easy and usually free.

Got it last Thursday, and rode SART on Monday ... big mistake, and now back to square one and had to take 2 more days off to recover.

Flu vaccine is not key. My inlaws all got this flu, they all had flu shots. Flu shots only have a few strains that they assume will be the it strain for the year. The strain going around is not what was on the flu shot this year. What im scared of is how many kids are dying this year of this flu strain. Scary.

Flu shot reduce recovery time and discomfort, if you still get it. The flu struck my wife this season, got her on tamiflu and she was almost back to normal in two days.

@MAMB- riding 9000 vertical feet and 50 miles in Laguna (that's some steep-ass climbing, BTW) last Saturday may have slightly compromised your immune system, especially since you followed it up with another 2500' day on Sunday. I typically stop when I hit 8500' of climbing.*

    Get well soon, man-teen!

    #-o

*(Actually, I've never done more than 4000' in a day, and I've only done that twice)

No respiratory symptoms? if thats the case then likely not influenza. probably norovirus. Nasty strain of that going around this year too.

I got the nasal flu vaccine in early Dec and caught the flu bug two weeks ago. I was out of commission for 4 days. I spent 2 days puking up everything I took in and lost 5 lbs in the process. Now I'm battling a sinus infection for over 2 weeks now. Nothing seems to work.

I was on an Orange Kona. I realized my post was about Monday since I had the day off and thought it was sunday, when I rode with MO (OP) He told me on the car ride up that he was around his sick family.

I guess I have double the risk now
