LEE!!! HOLY CRAP! Long time no see/hear!!! Glad to see you're back on the bike...and I hate to admit (okay, not really), but I think I have more bikes than you now. I really DO have a problem....They all serve a different purpose though, and I don't have a d/h bike, so I guess it's not that much of a prob, eh?

I remember that you had a singlespeed, and when we last talked, you said that John got you a track bike (they're so fun!).

It's been nearly a year since we last spoke. Married yet?

I'm trying my best to reduce my bikes (I no longer have my GT DHi DH bike - it's now owned by another member of this board).

    I still have:
    - Intense 5.5 XC bike
    - Intense UZZI VPX Freeride/DH bike
    - Intense UZZI SLX Buddy bike (for sale, though)
    - Surly 1x1 XC/Fully Loop bike
    - Azonic Evolution Do everything bike (XC, DH, BMX, etc.)
    - GT ZR1000 Road bike
    - GT Pro Series 24" BMX bike

Hmm...I guess I am doing better at getting rid of bikes.
Now I need to work on getting rid of a few jet skis and an extra dirt bike.

After starting this thread, I think I want to sell the GT 24 and build a new 24.

    Okay, bike list time?

-Titus RacerX (yep, got it and LOVE it)
-Specialized Langster (road-fixie, though I can flip the hub)
    -Scott CR1 Road bike
-Bianchi Pista Concept (need to get back to the track--haven't riden that for a while)
-Soma Juice 29'er, geared (my hardtail bike...hey, we all need a back up, right?)
-KHS Solo One (up for sale--cheap--then I can get a 29'er SS)
-Felt Road Bike (again, for sale)

And, no, not married. What's going on with you? Glad you finally healed; the last time I saw you, you were still in a cast.

Oh, and, a 24? Haven't you heard? Things are moving the OTHER way--29'ers ;)

    ...and riding them

Chelle, same place in HB? Impressive list, BTW. I really like those Pista Concepts.

I haven't spent much time on a 29er. I didn't like it, but I've thought of building one just to give it a valid shot. Although, what I've had in mind is kind of a mutant roadie/mtb.

umm, you mean a cyclocross bike? ;)

Still in the same place in HB, that's why I have to sell a couple of them. My condo art deco is pretty much bikes, and a trainer.

You still in Buena Park? I want to redo a few things in my condo; I should talk to you a bit more about yours.

No, not a cyclocross bike. That style doesn't fit mine. I don't like the bars or the brakes. And I'm not sure if I want gears on it. Otherwise, yeah, a cyclocross bike.

Of course I'm still in my condo in Buena Park (you should see the cabinet I constructed in the garage when I only could work with one hand).

Um...which bike should I ride? What kind of stuff is up there, other than the XC trails?

No, I haven't. And their website is horrible! Let me edit that and just say Bianchi's web site completely sucks!
    Have a link?

Back in about 1985, I had a bike that was painted Bianchi green (aka puke green).

    Lee,

The folks still live near the old firestation, but we were one block away. I never went to the ditch but heard of it. I remember Billy Gasper, Bill Bataglia and Howie Baucke all trying the stairs - and yeah, there were some big piles at the bottom.

    Bianchi USA 2006: Roger

It's their cross bike, and I think it was designed by the same girl that did the Pista Concept last year. It's not the Bianchi green though. But, John just got one and is loving it. :)

That's a bit closer to what I'd like. All I'd have to drop the snail bars and put on a good set of riser mtb bars (Pro Tapers).

The carbon fork with alloy steer tube seems a bit scary for offroad use, though. And a heavier duty frame is required.

    Downhillross13,
I like your sig about the Hemi. I was thinking of getting a license plate frame for my Dodge that says, "Yeah, it got a Hemi...about a mile back" - I have the Cummins engine, and I'm going to install a bigger turbo in the next week or two.

I wrecked into a tree and in a fluke accident severed all of the nerves that run from my spine to my left arm.(and broke 2 ribs, my shoulder, shoulder blade and a/c joint. and severed my axillary artery and collapsed my left lung) The Dr.s still have no idea if I'll ever be able to use the arm again.

The pics are in the carnage section.

Thanks for the advice. Right now I am riding on slicks on my hardtail on road but eventually I'll get back in the dust.

    SAR_boats,
But did you damage the bike? j/k
Man, that sounds bad. I wish you the best in your recovery.

After the first couple weeks after my crash and the first surgury, my doctor gave me the doom-and-gloom future of my wrist. I was so depressed. The only positive thing he said was that the nerve damage in my wrist (that he supposedly fixed in surgury) should be back to normal in two months. Wrong. In my case, I couldn't feel most of my hand, but it hurt like nothing I've ever experienced (and I've experienced a lot!).

The next doctor I had was all positive that I should overcome most of the issues within a year. It's about a year now, and I have poor range of movement, which he expected. I still have to go back to get something checked (I don't like talking about the "something" to see if it's healing right). The nerve issue lasted for about 7 months, and even still has some issues when my hand is in cold water. Otherwise, I think I'm doing OK.

I hope you have faith in your doctor, since the outcome depends greatly on their ability to fix you up.

I haven't found the carnage section you referred to, but I'm not sure I want to.

Since you sound like a cool guy, I assume you have a good base of friends who support you. I was fortunate as well, including a few friends on this board (Chelle, Neccros, and Let_Rides, sorry for the misspelling Lety).

If I could offer one piece of advice it would be to be positive. Oh, and mixing Uncle Vic (vicodin) and a little alcohol isn't so bad. j/k

Hmm...it's hard to change lanes after thinking about that.

    Downhillross,
    The tires are 305/65-17, basically a 33"
The suspension has about 3" of lift in the front, and about an inch in the rear. This leaves me about 1/2" of clearance to the top of the garage door. The suspension is a KORE Chase kit: KORE Chase Series - Dodge RAM Suspension - Dodge Lift Kits

On a side note, I bought the suspension kit when I was depressed. I installed it with the assistance of Neccros two days after my second surgury. I had to keep the arm elevated the entire time. Since I couldn't manage the 44 pound coil springs with one arm, Neccros did all the heavy lifting. Yeah, and I was also under the influence of Uncle Vic...which reminds me...I should go back and check the tightness of the hardware.
