The trails are riding very nice, packed and hard. Rills have formed down the centers. The soil moisture content is coming up as the trails were transpiring after the sun went down. The water bars I packed late last year have firmed up nicely.
Trail Maint. There were a few large pieces of Chamise down across the trail. I stopped and dispatched them into the chaparral.
Flora: The Brittle Brush is full of new leaf sprouts. Black Sage is beginning to wake. The West Asian grasses
(rye and oat) are about 1 to 8 inches tall depending upon exposure. Mustard has sprouted but it is the seed leaves. Manroot has some long shoots and it is sprouting all over the mini biomes. The moss and lichen are smiling.
Happy 2016 on the single trac

While the East Coast is getting hammered with Snow us West Coasters seem to be blessed with the most perfect winter riding conditions. Trails are lush green right now with sage and ferns sprouting up everywhere. I hope the weather stays this way for a couple more weeks. Lot's of folks enjoying the outdoors today.
