This thread will be used to periodically post up group work events on the Luge. These groups will be headed by either me or Jim (AKA Kioti). We have legal access to work within the Cleveland National Forest to repair or alter these trails to keep them open for public use. If we are working in a big group you may be asked to bring certain tools such as shovels, rake, pick ect. Because we may run out of tools to accommodate you with. You will be asked to bring your own water, and snacks. Weather conditions tend to change rapidly in the forest, it's always a good idea to bring a warmer clothes such as a jacket, sun screen and work gloves you can pack away in your hydration pack.

There are currently only three people who work on the Luge/STT, Boaz, me and Jim. It's hard to keep up on the maintenance all by our selves and we need your help from time to time. There aren't many trails in SoCal like the luge that Leave you with the same amount of stoke!

If you are available and would like to help please PM me, we will be meeting at cooks corner at 8:00am and leaving to the trail head by 8:15.

These late season storms have been cool! I rode the Luge on Sunday and last night.. and love the work you're doing!

I'm spread out between the STT/Luge and Aliso, and have spent much of my free time getting the STT closure lifted, as well as doing some work on the drop to the flag (at Vulture Crags). I want to help with this, but also want to finish some work we've been doing on Meadows. Unfortunately, my email's down so I haven't been able to send out a request for help with that yet.

Best of luck with your project, and I hope you get some additional volunteers. Those of you who ride the Luge.. please come out and help Jeff and Boaz.

Thanks FDP, Boaz and Kioti! I will join you again in the near future. In the meantime, a thousand thanks for your ability and willingness to help keep our trails flowy, fun and sustainable!

Here's an interesting thing.. with this thread, and another on Meadows.. only one rider came forward to help out (thank you Dave!). Otherwise it was Jeff and Boaz on the Luge, and Ryan and me on 5-Oaks.

We love doing trail work, but we're 1: not getting paid for it, 2: have families and jobs and limited free time, and 3: love riding as much as you.

It's very fortunate we're allowed to work on the trails we ride and gradually make them more fun. But we could use some help. Please watch for opportunities to join us, and also let us know if you see something that needs work--then come out and help us fix it.

We'll continue to dig as conditions allow. Expect us to be planning something if rain is in the forecast. We can also do brush work if conditions are dry. Feel free to contact us if you don't see anything posted.

Trails we are currently involved with are the STT and Luge in the National Forest, and Meadows and 5-Oaks (and potentially any other legal trail) in Aliso.

    Thank you,
    Jim aka kioti
