STR: Your host is *&^$*

    It seems that practically every morning STR's response drops to nil, e.g. >10 minutes to load a page. Other sites show no problem, so my internet connection is good.

    Some times I'd have to say the site is down.

    Please fix.

    I don't have that problem at all...loads quick any time of the day...1st time or 50th time

    I notice a slow down in the early am as well. It's fine the rest of the day. I thought it was my neighbors poaching my crappy wireless network.

    I'm with Abui...
    Hit or miss STR page loading (not a problem on other sites)

    Home computers: iMac and Powerbook G5 (wireless)
    Away from home: Windows 7 and Windows XP (hard wired)
    Windows machines seem to have slightly less lag than do the Macs

    I've called Verizon more than once regarding STR internet lag...
    They claim my connection is not the problem.

    Yeah, in the mornings (7 AM-8AM), the site can be unresponsive. I'm on cox.net in South Orange County.

    Everybody playing with their Cox early in the morning does tend to slow things down ;)

    I've had problems with STR loading at home (Verizon) and work so it's not the provider. Timed out quite a few times.

    I have had the same problems in the morning 7AM to 8AM. It fine some mornings and really slow other mornings. Running Windows 7

    It starts earlier than that -- I have much the same issues from 5:30AM on. Does not seem to be an issue after 8AM or so...

    I'll run a ping tomorrow morning and post up the output.

    If STR is using shared hosting, the problem being described is pretty common. Most shared hosting gets over saturated in the mornings due to heavy usage and then stabilizes later in the day.
