From SoCalMTB to this forum. Been there nearly ten years and it is now just a shadow of it's former self. So please allow me to introduce myself. I am a serious cycling junkie and have been riding for nearly ten years. At 48 years old, I'm probably not quite the beast I was at 43, but I'm doing wa-aay OK.

I am lucky enough to have a significant other/girlfriend who's just as fierce about the sport as I am. She races too and is doing her first year in the Beginner class. She's number 1! But she's the ONLY woman in her class!
But if you look at most 50 year old women these days, there ain't too many of em' that are all that fit.

You know it's getting bad, when you go to the store and you see an older couple on his-and-hers matching mobility scooters, whisking them through the aisles of Costco! Naaah, I'll take slamming singletrack on my S-Works, with my lady close behind!

And afterwards, dinner and a couple o' Ballast Point IPA's. I know some of you former SoCalMTB'rs are hanging out here and I look forward to sharing the tales and the pics.

    Sincerely,

    Regis aka STP

Welcome STP! We know what you mean about moving to this site; many of us have done the same for similar reasons. Hope to meet you out on some rides in the near future. If you can, come join us for the Fully Loop Social. You'll meet more STR folk at that ride than possibly any other ride; it's like 50+ strong!!!

As you can tell from his initial post, STP knows how to turn a phrase!
I was just reading your Catalina write up (SoCalMTB) last night.
    Welcome Regis.

    Regis!! Is that you!?!

To all that don't know...Regis is the man. He broke his bike at the Elings Park Race and do you think he DNFed? Hell no!! He grabbed his GF's bike...raised up the seatpost...and finished the race!!

Sorry I missed you and Debbie at Rim Nordic...I was sick. I'll see you at the Big Bear Finals!

    To all of ya'all!

A sincere thanks for the warm welcome! Makes me all warm and fuzzy :drunk:!

I'm glad to see a few of my buds here, Pilas, Pain Freak, CeeDubb (gotta give me some clues as to who you are or what class you race in, there's so many great people out there).

CeeDubb, Sorry you missed the last Rim Nordic. What an incredible race course! I'd pay to race there, even if I was dead friggin' last, the S/T is soooo go-oood!

And also thanks for reading the stories on the old site. I'll try to add some here, as I love to share the experience in a humble, but fun way.

I'm outta here! Ave P and the missus awaits! The very lightly used 02' Specialized S-Works frame that replaced the K2 Razorback, makes the faithful Razorpig, look like a lame dog. The handling is super-intuitive, with the center of balance, easily defined. Simply leaning forward or leaning back in the seat at high speed, makes that bike shift into different handling modes. Lean back, makes for lightening the front end, ever so slightly, so that the front tire doesn't plow through the soft stuff.

Gotta stop! See you all tommorow.

Welcome, STP. Forgot how much I'd enjoyed your RR's over at SoCalMTB until you mentioned the Razorpig--haven't heard that name in some time.

Glad you found us over here! See you on the trails.

You guys are all grasshoppers to me...

Welcome... always good to have another member of the tribe. I hang out at Aliso Woods on Tue evenings... doing a little patrolling. If you can come join us on Sat morning for a ride up to Beek's place... a lot of the STR riders will be coming... check the Trail Talk section for this Sat's ride (8/4).

    I'll be on a black 29er SS.
